Gabe is a very interesting prospect. Extremely high floor and high ceilings in my opinion. Just needs the opportunity to be a primary ballhandling on a consistent basis. I’ve seen a few of his games in the summer with his high school and he looked great playing a hybrid role of PG and everything else off the ball. His tendencies are very desirable analytically. His efficiencies should get significantly better as he gets older. He just turned 15 I read.want:
Gabe Sularski (2026), 6' 6" SG, Benet Academy. Sularski's dad is very tall.
I think he's better than Nojus at this stage (and I'm a Nojus fan).
Are you always this optimistic about recruiting?
For those of you who have seen Jase play, could you offer a game break down? What does he do well? What does he need to work on?"(Jase) Butler says he plans to announce his college decision on his birthday, October 4th"
Has visited UCSB, Colorado State, and Loyola Marymount. Illinois is his last scheduled official visit on 9/22. His thoughts on his finalists published below.

Strong guard with a good frame and height. Won't wow you with explosiveness/athleticism but is a really good facilitator. Way less of a scorer than Mikey but that allows them to come together and not step on each other's toes. (If Brad wants both at this point...not convinced he does)For those of you who have seen Jase play, could you offer a game break down? What does he do well? What does he need to work on?
Not a single high major has offered Butler, and none out West have shown much interest, but he’s a take for us after a few viewings? Just seems odd to me that he’s jumped ahead of kids the staff have been recruiting for years.
Apparently he's a "diamond in the rough" sleeper from the heads on this board and it will mark the 4th recruit outside of the top 100 in a row. That last we took 4 kids in a row outside the top 100 has to be the Weber years. I don't even think Groce landed 4 - 3 stars in a row.Not a single high major has offered Butler, and none out West have shown much interest, but he’s a take for us after a few viewings? Same level of confidence he had in pulling in a point guard from the transfer portal this offseason? Just curious.............Brad seems pretty confident he can get all 4 ...

So let it be written, so let it be doneHe's got visits scheduled to LSU and Ole Miss over the next couple weeks...
And his lead recruiter at LSU just left to take a G League job ...
I think he will be in decision mode after those visits for sure ... He will be signing early ... Our staff was pretty confident after dinner last night ...
If you want my bold prediction ... I think we get Lewis and Butler committed and signed this fall and are done with prep recruiting for 2024 ... I think Brad locks down Gill on his visit in October ... The start of the 2025 class ... And we get Fears on his visit in October ... Then in January he commits and whatever class he wants to be in ... He's a take ...

Wait, who are the last 3 kids -- in a row -- we've taken that are outside the top 100?? Please tell me you're not counting the walk-ons...Apparently he's a "diamond in the rough" sleeper from the heads on this board and it will mark the 4th recruit outside of the top 100 in a row. from said poster.....Our last three commitments - DGL, Moretti and Jatskys, are all outside of the top 100. Again, hopefully this is an exception and not the norm. Also not saying these kids can't be wonderful basketball players.Wait, who are the last 3 kids -- in a row -- we've taken that are outside the top 100?? I get it, Illinois fans have a better eye for talent then the national guys. What I am stating is about as an objective fact as one can possibly state. Maybe we can coach them up. Historically this has not been the case. I get you can find an exception to the rule but for every exception I can point to 100 Liebs. It's disingenuous at best. Conveniently leaving out the 3 transfers who are all 4 stars and will make an immediate impact on the program. All 3 committed in April (so after 3 of the 4 he's referring to). Not to mention also ignores that Jakstys is shooting up the rankings and I won't get into DGL. Cherry on top is he included a kid who hasn't even decided yet (Butler).
The one guy we can really make a case against, Moretti... well, okay.
I get it, its September and we're bored and need things to yell about...
None of the transfers this year were 4 star recruits. You think its disingenuous but I actually see this point as strengthening my case. It's disingenuous at best. Did you actually look? All 3 transfers are 4 stars on 247…None of the transfers this year were 4 star recruits. You think it’s disingenuous but I actually see this point as strengthening my case.
Prep rankings matter zero when we’re talking about fifth-year seniors… these guys have proven themselves. Domask was first team in his conference.None of the transfers this year were 4 star recruits. You think its disingenuous but I actually see this point as strengthening my case.
