Purdue 44, Illinois 19 Postgame

Luke transfers he sits a year. I don’t think he will. I don’t think he can predict a starting position a year down the road

The above is about O-Coord, which I had flagged.

IF the O-Cord is being questioned how long will the QB stay around?

IMO not too long. After all, he has 2 years left, even if he has to sit one MORE year.

The point is, this O is not clicking. An 8 cyl engine running on 3 cannot cut it.

Re: Lunney, I just don't see formidable intention nor innovation in how we bring our weapons to bear and put stress on a defense. Perhaps my way of saying "no identity," but also we're not being more clever, out-scheming or finding ways to just make ourselves as hard to handle as possible for a defense (a la Kansas 🤮 just as an example). The offense as a whole seems disjointed, haphazard. Rather than their issues being a matter of struggling to execute the strategy; it seems more like they don't have a clear strategy or ability to turn it into a coherent, methodical, purposeful operation.

As an owner of 4 of the 10,000 new season tickets sold this year I was drawn in with a few sips of the kool-aid left over from last year. I was still fairly optimistic about a bowl appearance before today’s game as well. Now - well…feel free to stop by and say hi in the Research Park! We’re still gonna tailgate to the best of our ability!

If I’m coach, Feagin starts at RB and Elzy starts at WR. Take time away from McCray, Washington and Bryant. Keep a tight end on the line to help the right tackle and move Adams back to left guard. Use More quick hitting passes. No more long developing routes where Luke holds the ball. He doesn’t have 3 seconds to survey the field. More like 1 second. Use Altmyers running ability a little more but don’t over use the qb run.

on defense, blitz often. Play man in the secondary. Gamble some. Bench db’s for post play yapping. It’s embarrassing.

live with the results, good or bad.
I agree 💯!!!

We bought two of them. We’ll enjoy them and will ensure there are butts in our seats when we can’t make it. We’ll donate to friends.

Whether we re-up for 2024 will depend on seeing the current disjointed efforts start to coalesce into something enjoyable to watch, win or lose. Discipline is a necessary element. I’m inclined to walk out of games with gratuitous penalties like unsportsmanlike conduct. There’s simply excuse for that :poop:!

What exactly is Bielema gonna force?

This sounds like unraveling at the seams and I have had enough of this with the Bears. Being a fan of these teams is doing wonders for my cholesterol encased heart.
Illinois IS the Bears in college uniforms. Season over…….again!

This is the same issue that kills me, once we started falling apart, I wanted to be able to flip to other games without leaving the app and using DIRECTV (or another app).
Another problem is trying to FF through a game when you're watching later.

This is year 8 of the Whitman era. Is it really too much to ask for a better conference winning % in football and basketball than the Ron Guenther era?

As an AD, you get to make 1 bad hire in football. You do not get 2. If Bielema flames out, that is all on Whitman. Don't get me wrong I want Bret to succeed but we are not good. There are so many holes in this team.

Development. How many times over the past 2 years did we hear this is a developmental program. Players are not stepping up to roles. that’s discouraging.
Tough to develop bottom of B1G recruiting classes. What happened last year was an anomaly regarding our talent on defense. We need to recruit better, which is tough when you get blown out by rival who is after many of same players.

Just sad. Our coordinators are in over their heads. And Bielema- if I was an NFL scout I'd ignore anything that guy ever said going forward. Bryant is an NFL receiver and we have 3 OL that will be playing in the NFL next season. Yeah OK coach.
Feels like I'm souring too quickly on this staff, but it's hard not to with these performances.

This gave me a chuckle. It made me imagine NFL teams having to draft players based on their college coaches' word (because there was no such thing as game tape, combine, personal workouts, etc.).

With the exception of Williams at WR, difficult to point to any aspect of Illini play that has been exceptional or consistent.

Gee, one can be thankful we do not play the likes of Ohio State, Maryland, and Michigan.

My interpretation: I pay the OC to do the job. He's not cutting it. I'll get involved to try to improve the situation. OC gone at end of the season.
