Ok, skimming through the stats, they beat us on the boards and had 23 assists on 31 buckets. We only had 10 assists on 36 buckets. Turnovers a wash. Both teams with 18 free throws. They had 7 steals, we had 4.

So, since I didn't see it, how did we win, lol?

Didn't get to watch, sat at a choir concert instead! I assume by all the comments we played ok, shot FT ok, and shot the ball well.

I'm looking for the complaints and didn't see any, can someone highlight a negative, please. I won't be able to sleep tonight until someone says something negative.

- Brad's hair miscombed
- Geoff pant legs too high
- CoHawk surely did something negative after 20 positives
- TSJ had mismatching loop length on his shoestring?

Anything?
Brad's slicked back hair is atrocious. I think he needs to try a different style or maybe cut it shorter. How's that?

Our starters including Domask and Shannon were 5-17 from 3. Harmon and Goode 3-3. 8-20. We shoot around 20 3's vs. 30...
We will win a ton of games shooting 2's.. our guards are huge and know how to get to the rim for great looks or a foul. Stick with what 💪 works.
Lol, I'll take the bait. I love beating the dead horse of us taking 3 pointers from a couple feet behind the line. In the first half, I think we took four like that, all of which fell short. Gee, it's almost like their arms are grooved into shooting FROM the line, and that groove makes it harder to make the shots from a just slightly different range. So why do we keep doing it?
BUT, honestly, who cares today? Let's not complain after a fabulous win!!!

Well when both teams have the same fts generally the team with more buckets wins the game. And WE GOT BUCKETS

Let's see now:

(1) Yeah, we played OK. For the most part. Kinda.
(2) Yeah, we shot FT OK. 90% from the line.
(3) Yeah, we shot the ball... fairly well. 63% from 2. 40% from 3. So, yeah, good enough, I guess.

For my part I felt Brad's hair was under control; I noted that it seemed unusually plastered to the sides of his head at the outset of the game. It wasn't distracting but certainly noticeable.

I didn't focus on Geoff's hemline. Am always distracted looking at his kicks, 'cause he rocks an assortment sockless. No complaints there.

CoHawk drained a pick and pop trey that was pretty sweet and timely late. Otherwise, he's terrible. He's out of control and an unmitigated liability to the program. But he seems like a nice young man and I'm sure will do well in life. Oh, I mean he posted up Vlad fairly well, I guess. Dude fouled out.

TSJ had one drive where he got a bit out of control. One. The rest were fairly OK.

Aside from all that, I guess another complaint is that from a distance and on TV I sometime confuse Luke and Marcus if I can't see their numbers. On Saturday at the RAC I had no problem so it must be a TV thing for me.

Oh, and Marcus played fairly well this evening. Yeah. He was pretty good tonight.

I can't really think of anything else. Hope that helps and that you enjoyed the concert. I have fond memories of my high school Christmas concerts. ;)

I'm not complaining, simply stating against Rutgers and FAU we have taken only 20 3' each game. Not 30 or 35... And we look like a completely different and more efficient team.
Marquette loss/ 33/ 3 pt. Shots!

All smiles watching that game. Thought we were in trouble early, but they rode the horses they needed to. Didn't lose discipline. Fun to watch when they decided to leave Coleman wide open, he said, thank you very much. Fun to watch TSJ be TSJ. And DGL, if you're wondering why Domask was in their playing PG --watch and learn. More than one way to be a premier PG. Lot of heart in that win. Didn't crumble AT ALL down the stretch with the lead, and knew who to get the ball to when we were in the 1-1 and were gonna get fouled. Just a ton of things to like.

I gotta say, that was just a flat out good game. Two excellent teams playing well. You can see FAU's strengths. They really blanket the court and the passing lanes even though they don't have quite the size you'd like. Rebounded well, contested as much as they could. But the match-ups were in our favor, and boy did BU and co exploit them.

Jay tried to make a point about assists but I think assists in basketball don’t tell the whole story

If you pass the ball to a player who has the advantage and has to take 3-4 dribbles and scores that is just as good as an assist in my book

The one thing we need to work on is turnovers. Seemed like in the first half we lowered the ball too much in the paint and FAU was able to get a steal or tie us up

Oh we don’t have a PG and can’t handle pressure think needs to stop for a while

Not nearly as talented throughout the lineup but very gritty like them
Very different type of team. The 05 team was more like this FAU team than like the current Illini. Great guards, great passing, great effort on defense…
This Illini team wears teams down with strength & size. In 05 our PF was 6’5”. This team’s PG is 6’5”
Winning is fun no matter how you do it!

Like I've been saying, FAU was playing at their ceiling. We aren't even close to our ceiling!
FAU was definitely not at their ceiling. Goldin played only ~20 min (and still killed it during those minutes) and they were missing one of their main guards (Nick Boyd, averages 10ppg). They're a damn good team and will only be better come March. That said, doesn't take anything away from that W. They played really well, but our guys just played better.
