Maybe Bryce Hopkins wants to come home with that nice 17 ppg at Providence.

Man we really should’ve won that Marquette game. They’ve looked terrible on the road so far, except against us.
We were still figuring some things out rotation wise trying to integrate several new pieces in. Coleman and Quincy combining for a grand total of 5 pts certainly didn't help us either.

At what point to do we want Tennessee & Marquette to lose some games so we can pass them in seeding??
We actually do not care. We are going to be great all year, so our seeding will be fine, either way. A two is probable, and a three is a possibility. A one is not out of the question. So, we just have to enjoy the ride.

I think you're being overly optimistic, but I also agree with you. I'm not really worried about all these who'd we beat and who did they beat stuff. If we take care of business, we don't need anyone else's help. A top 4 seed is there for the taking this year. We don't need any help to get it.

This chatter about seeding gives me March bubble talk flashbacks.

Maybe it’s almost time to make a bracketology thread and I’m not sure if this is the right spot but I went through some teams we will be fighting with for seeding and honestly… I’m kind of not impressed?

Big 12 is pretty bleak outside of Kansas in terms of good wins… feel like a lot of these teams beat teams everyone thought would be good going into the year and it’s carrying a lot of weight..

Baylor beat Auburn, IMO really good win. But their win over Florida is very mid, Oregon State is bad & Seton Hall is bad.

BYU beat SDSU in November and have nothing else but a loss to Utah…

Oklahoma is 7th in the country riding wins over a 6-5 USC, 6-5 Iowa, 7-4 Arkansas and a good win over Providence.. There’s no way they are the 7th best team in the country and I’d be shocked if they’re even in the top 5 seed discussion in 2 months…

To the Big East..

Creighton has beaten Nebraska & Iowa Oklahoma State & Alabama… eh…

Providence probably has the second best resume in the league now with wins over Wisconsin & Marquette.

Everyone else besides UConn obviously has nothing that stands out…

ACC:

Clemson beat South Carolina & Alabama…. And a bunch of mid.

Virginia’s win over A&M looks pretty ok at best right now…

North Carolina beat Tennessee but lost all their other big games…

Dukes best win is against 6-5 MSU (it’ll age better but that’s not good right now)

PAC 12:

Colorado beat… Miami… and that’s kind of it?

SEC…

Kentucky has beaten St Joes Miami & UNC, good! But lost to UNCW?

Moral of the post is… The big ten might not be in as bad of a spot as some may think because some of these good teams in other power-5’s really don’t have much that just jumps out at you…

Teams that have…

1. A road win
2. A top 15 win
3. 0 bad losses (teams that they should’ve beat/wouldn’t make the tourney as of today)
4. 0 double digit losses

How many teams check all those boxes?

Purdue
Kansas
UConn
Tennessee
Clemson
Illinois

That’s it.

Howard has led them back down to Tommy Amaker level, and I am loving it.

I don’t believe Purdue has a road win. Unless you’re counting Maui and/or Bama in Toronto. They haven’t won on an opponent’s home court yet this year.

Yup. I think there are several keys in determining the success this year.
1. Make CH effective - have him cut/roll more then pop/shoot.
2. Make Dormask aggressive - he needs to score enough to mask his defense deficiency. We will see how he performs against high level opponents.
3. Make Quincy efficient - he has been doing that so far and hope that trend continues.
4. Ty distributes well - hope he keeps his learning curve on that.

Uh, Marquette beat Kansas and beat us on our home floor...

You can frame it in any orange-colored way you want, but we have beaten 1 top 70 (NCAA tournament caliber team) so far.

Any non-Illinois fan would say Marquette's resume and many of the others you listed are a bit ahead of ours at this point.

You got them in the right order. CoHawk is the biggest variable in our equation.

We go as he goes.

I am imaging our team plus ray jay Dennis. Watching the Baylor duke game, him at the one and ty as his back up. Wow. That would be a national contender. We are currently tracking to be one right now, but wow. What could have been.

Note:
He is 2-6 at the ft. line. Please excuse anything I said above lol
