As an Illini fanatic, to the point I pull as hard for an Illini win against my alma mater, Arizona, as I do against Indiana, Iowa, or Michigan, that was an especially satisfying win given that I have lived in Missouri for 30 years. But, as I stated in the game thread, all aspects of the play of this Illini team tonight must become the floor at which the play every night from here on. The skill and talent is there. They just need to take steps forward, each player and as a team, every game.
This year vs last year is night and day. Last year was high ceiling/low floor. This year is higher ceiling/much much higher floor.
We had been pretty iso heavy the last few games which was fine, matchups dictated it. But we really moved the ball well tonight and that was nice to see.
Marcus was 0-7 from 3 tonight but I loved all his looks. Those will fall and then I feel like our offense will go up another level.
Only negatives to me was we got a little sloppy against their press and let up a little bit too much defensively in the second half with 49 points. And Terrance looked a little gimpy the last 10 or so minutes of the game. Otherwise, great win.

I had my money on Richmond being your favorite.
There are times I am like, man I wish we had RayJ because the offense would be so scary. But, good lord Ty is a beast right now and the more he develops, the better it is for us this year and the future. Underwood is a monster.

Love the way this team plays together. This one was just fun from the get-go. I wish the coaches would have given a little more playing time to the bench given the point differential, but I think we were making a statement here…
