Question and maybe I'm just forgetting.....but does Illinois have any "Darknight" type uniforms? Like mostly black but yet the Illinois symbol and letters be in orange ? I just think it would be cool to have a uniform that somewhat makes a statement as well to others. Thoughts? I know you enjoy discussing uniforms a lil more than some

I'm someone who likes alternative uniforms, but with black not being one of colors, I'd find it odd if Nike sent us something like that.

Given that I'm team #BluesAreCursed, I wouldn't want to see it done with navy either. I'm good with just sticking to orange and white, but that's entirely personal preference

Orange is an aggressive color. Navy blue is passive.

Hawkins was playing drop coverage, which is why going under screens was hurting the Illini early, but obviously Hawkins can and did guard a lot more people than Dain.
I am hoping/wishing Dain plays more tomorrow . He looked terrific the few minutes he played.

Yeah, but that will only last so long once Domask exploits mismatches. Then they bring weak side help and leave cutters (QC) and shooters (LG, CH, JH) wide open.

This team is pick your poison now. And when TSJ returns...we'll have a monster to shove it down your throat.

Marcus hit a lot of tough shots against Northwestern. Many easy ones but some tough ones too..

I’d bet Painter is okay with letting Marcus get 20+ points on 2-point shots rather than letting Coleman just roam free. Plus I bet he anticipates a friendly home whistle which will erase some post-up fouls for Marcus.

Threes from where? While Cohawk did take one NBA 3 last game, he also did seem much more conscious of where the college line is. If he plays like that again, I think we win. If he's taking NBA 3's, I think Painter let's him have them, and I fear we lose.
Overall, Coleman has gotten much better and choosing the 3s he takes (set shot at the college line) and it is showing in his average.

The NBA 3 you mention was one of Coleman's bigger mental lapses last game. He came down the floor expecting an open 3 based on the defense NW played on the prior set. When there was someone there to guard him at the 22' line, instead of starting the offense, he took an uneven step back and launched. The results were predictable.

Does anyone know if there is Matt Painter pre-game video? I can't find one.

All right…I was at the Wake Forest game and I was at the Indiana game…I wasn’t born yet for the ‘79 game against Mich St.
I’ll be at the Purdue game tomorrow and I’ll have witnessed 3/4 times the Illini have beaten the #1 ranked team! ILL!
Best Illini basketball games I attended

1979 - Eddie Johson hits end of game jumper to beat Magic and Michigan State
1989 - Kenny Battle leads Illini come roaring back from 16 point(?) deficit to beat Missouri in Bragging Rights
1990 - Nick Anderson hits end of game half court 3 pointer at Indiana for the win

Unfortunately I did not see any of 2005 team games in person due to moving to NYC

He was already at one this year! He’s already riding the wagon.
That was the Jimmy V. Classic. Bill was actually there to watch his son who coaches at UConn, though I expect that he was pulling for us vs. FAU.
