I’m very proud of this team. Watching this team again come back against a great Purdue team. But we got into too big of a hole in the first half.

Things couldn’t have gone better

Edey in foul trouble ✅
Coleman not in foul trouble ✅
Favorable calls (shocked) ✅

But we didn’t rebound well enough and they hit everything in the first half.

I am looking forward to the rematch in Champaign.

Didn't give up. Team looked poised at the end. Still enjoying this team.

Well, the number one team in the country needed to shoot the lights out from three and get all the help they could from the refs to pull out a win against an Illinois team missing its best player. We win that game by 10 in Champaign. I would have liked to see a little more from Domask in the first half. I don't think they will drop much in any rankings after that performance though.

No quit!! Very proud with the fight, could've felt sorry for themselves for TSJ, playing terrible 1st 10 minutes, couldn't make a shot etc.. but they played til the end on the road against #1 and proved this team isn't gonna lay down no matter the circumstances. We will be fine. Imo, we just proved we are a top 10 to 12 (maybe higher?) team in the country no matter who plays.

Down 20-4 eight minutes into game and close within 3 points by thirteen minute mark. Down 21 points seven minutes into second half and pull within 3 points in final minute. This team had many opportunities to fold, but instead, kept fighting to the end. This bodes well for the rest of season.

Fun team. On to Michigan State!

We won’t have a harder game / environment the rest of the season. It will only get more “winnable” from here and this team didn’t lay down. Also, will give BU credit for recognizing Ty wasn’t working and keeping him out for the last 15 minutes or so. Had we kept allowing Edey to camp under the basket while Ty went into an unguarded dribble hand-off, it would have been 90-60 Purdue. I know he doesn’t have a green light, but if defenders are going to completely ignore him, I have to imagine he’s competent enough to shoot at least once.
