Beating a desperate Michigan State team is a big deal no matter where it’s at and no matter what their record is.

With this win, Illinois tied the all-time series with Michigan State at 64 wins apiece. Only B1G teams Illinois has a losing record to are Purdue (90-106), Indiana (91-96), and Maryland (7-14).

Ty minutes felt like they took a big hit after that hot start. That will hurt our rebounding even though Harmon is still a solid rebounder. Not sure if there is an answer besides playing Harmon more as they did seem to adjust to Ty after that initial flurry.

Have to stay focused and bring the intensity for full 40 minutes. Can’t take time off in a B1G game. Saw that against PU and tonight.

CoHawk is and has to be one of the best defenders in the nation. He can cover any position, 1 thru 5. And this game may be his most complete game ever in an Illini uniform. E effin LITE.

Also, as an Urbana resident with a daughter in school, I can tell you everyone in CU is sick or has a classmate/friend/family member that is sick. I bet there are some fellas on the team not feeling 100%.

I think it's going to happen; the Illini will cover the spread in this game. This kind of win could be a "springboard" kind of win--a "springboard" to some convincing victories in the future, if you will.

These close grind-it-out kind of games are what the team needs to test themselves and prove they can finish games. They did just that. This MSU team is better than their record so this was a very important win. Less connected Illinois teams would've lost this game.

I give MSU credit. Izzo had them ready to go. I'm almost as interested in hearing Izzo's postgame thoughts as I am from our guys

I thought coleman played great! One of his best games especially defensively. Domask was really good in the 2nd half creating for himself and others. Huge win! We have to defend our home court.

We were up 3 after the ft miss. MSU had the ball in transition with a chance to tie. I’m sure BU wanted a reach in foul so they couldn’t shoot a game tying 3 as time expired.
