Domask can hit the 3 and normally is an outside threat. He just looked off tonightWe had trouble having Domask and Ty on the same side of the court offensively initially. It was much easier to double Domask because he isn’t an outside threat. Ty had a great game, but having 4 other outside shooters with Domask allows Domask to be more effective. Dain is a defensive liability with the switches. Happy we got the win. That was a Ssressful game.
Sissoko was brutal over Hawkins back. Even by MSU standards.I think MSU had a few over the backs when they had tap outs over Hawkins who looked like he boxed out and there looked like there was some contact
Yeah but Coleman has to sell that.I think MSU had a few over the backs when they had tap outs over Hawkins who looked like he boxed out and there looked like there was some contact
Purdue. Will. Not. Win. The. Big. Ten. Period.
Ty Rodgers is dunking on Edey in the rematch
Sigh.....Goode minutes need to go DOWN dramatically. His +/- has to be atrocious. He hasn't shot the ball well in his entire tenure at Illinois. To be shooting 64% from the charity stripe is embarrassing.
It was apparentBU interview on Big Ten Network just said 4-5 guys have been sick and they took 3 straight days off and didnt practice due to illnesses
You missed your opportunity for a Pruman quote. 🫠
I meant because Ty isn’t an outside threat, it’s easier to double Domask when Ty is on the same side of the floor. Having Ty on the opposite side, allows Ty to cut and Domask more options with guys like Luke, Coleman, Quincy, and Justin as outside threats.Domask can hit the 3 and normally is an outside threat. He just looked off tonight
He couldn’t back down MSU guards and Izzo had their big trap every time.
I was kinda thinking the same. I was thinking how we could really use him in this game but the team grinded it out. If TSJ were to come back at some point, this part of the season is going to make the Illini a legitimate Final Four contender. But, even without him, this team is so connected that they easily look like a 2nd weekend team compared to some of these pretendersYou take the wins however you can get them. But this was the first time I found myself really missing Shannon.
While we might think of Luke in these terms, his line is 4 pts, 6 rebounds (including some critical ones), 1 assist and 1 steel. Maybe that doesn't fulfill your vision, but it did in an Illini win.not that I think he's playing great but we had 8 scholarship players tonight and Dain and Dra are barely playing and for good reason. So we had a rotation of 6, Goode has to play
But can we breathe?
We can breath now

Yep, with no foul, still thought it was going in at first.Great defense by Harmon there to keep Walker in front and force a tough 3.
That’s verrrruyyyy interesting. But seriously folks, they can't all be pretty or easy. A B1G win is a good win.
Also, as an Urbana resident with a daughter in school, I can tell you everyone in CU is sick or has a classmate/friend/family member that is sick. I bet there are some fellas on the team not feeling 100%.
Yes, Goode fulfilled his role tonight and with emphasis on rebounding. Goode is doing a serviceable job as the fill-in starter. I do like the scoring punch we get off the bench with Harmon. This is working for Illinois right now so stick with this rotationWhile we might think of Luke in these terms, his line is 4 pts, 6 rebounds (including some critical ones), 1 assist and 1 steel. Maybe that doesn't fulfill your vision, but it did in an Illini win.
Hope the ACL surgery went well, Bryce!Paging Mr. Hingle. Can we please rein it in regarding the #1 culture guy this program has had in quite some time. Nothing we’ve had this season happens without players like Goode. Thanks, cya in the next game thread.
Loving Izzo all game long! Makes me sick. I needed some Brian Barnhart/Deon Thomas in a bad way.Was it me or were the announcers wearing green tonight?
I think it shows the high basketball IQ and unselfishness of the team.Hearing about guys being sick, got to give credit to them for gutting this one out. Also credit to the staff this year. Much better play out of TO's several times tonight. They have been pulling all the right strings this year. Gotta maintain the intensity and not let a team like Maryland come in and steal one. Big opportunity to move up near the top 5 this week. Lets GO!!!!!!
