Surprised no boom. This seems like a huge addition to the DL
Agreed!

I also saw this quote, which I like very much:

Although Florida State saw a number of opt-outs for the Orange Bowl against Georgia, Briggs knew he wanted to play in the game. He wanted to finish out the year with his teammates before determining his future, especially considering the Seminoles finished outside the top four of the final College Football Playoff rankings.

“It was real important, being able to have a final moment with all my brothers,” Briggs said, via Warchant’s Ira Schoffel. “We put in blood sweat and tears from January to January. Just coming out here and despite all the odds against us — and some of our brothers that did what’s best for them, for their future — our goal was just to come out and compete and give our best.”

Maybe Miles McVeigh should come home from Bama then, too.

This would be incredible, though I think McVay is going to have a serious chance at being Bama's starting right tackle next season (if he stays).

for these junior day weekends, do these juniors need to pay their own way to/from and any lodging if they stay overnite?

Kicker/Punter are ranked differently and I think one of these rating systems has 7 stars.

When my kid did it 10 years ago, we had to pay our own way. It's just the start of the whittling down process for the schools.
ok,
so the junior days are likely more skewed to players who live within 4-5 hours driving distance - we won’t normally see Jrs from Fla or east coast , correct ?

Yup. Farthest we drove was a visit with the South Dakota St. Jackrabbits...in February. What a drive. A nice sunny day but there were whiteout conditions on the highway in Minnesota because of the blowing snow. Never saw that growing up in Oak Park.

Final 247 rankings for the 2024 class. Not many changes.

Dennis got bumped from 92 to 93, decent boost.

Bumps for Brown, Petty, and Sanders got recent bumps.

2025 Michael McDonough is initially ranked 561st, 19th best prospect in Illinois. My guess is that composite will slide based on composite rankings of this past class.

Brayden Trimble is going to be an important recruitment for this staff. He continues to pile up B1G offers. Staff seems to be prioritizing him.
