The player to be named later in the Deuce Spann trade will be finalized soon as well.

This staff loves an interior offensive linemen to kick things off. Mentioned this before: this area of the Chicago 'burbs has been a desert for Illinois since mid-Zook era. Hopefully he can be a solid recruiter for the staff for the next 10 months.

Who are we getting from FSU? I've never heard of this before - or I completely overlooked it despite what my wife characterizes as "an insufferable amount of time spent on that website!"

This is who I have heard...

It's going to be a battle for him to be declared eligible.

Miami just got a TE a ninth year of eligibility. Seems like if you missed a lot of time for injury, the NCAA is granting waivers.

At least I hope that is true, because it seems like he would be a great addition.

The NCAA is granting waivers for injured Miami players. I think we all know the same standards are not upheld for the Illini cough*Luke*cough*Ford*cough

They turned down the Maryland QB. The Miami TE got a lot of national attention because 9 years is so startling. I’m guessing Illinois is taking him now knowing it’s iffy but they’ll look for someone else in the spring if he’s turned down.
