And free throws.Layups. That was the game.
I wish we had Hawkins on Buie the last couple of minutes in regulation! I think we walk out of there with a win. Oh well. You could tell how uncomfortable Boo was when Hawkins switched to him, which would have been the better assignment.
He gets the northwestern player on the leg on the follow-through after the ball is knocked loose from what I recall. Keep watching his hand and it's makes contact with the guys thigh.Just looking at the video there....what slap down??? He poked that ball out without contact....The NW dude did step on Coleman's foot, which is probably the main reason they called a foul (because all together, it looks like he fouls him because of the step and stumble.)
Yes...this 100X over. If they realized this (and WE realized this), why no adjustment to stop doing it? I love Brad, but his inability to make in game adjustments is infuriating and confounding. The issue last night was the defense and the switching in the 2nd half just like Brad said. I don’t get why they never realized that we couldn’t switch Domask or Goode onto Buie. Great to mention that postgame but it’s a little late.
I like to think some of that is hyperbole/deflecting the media in the moment. ( He’s got a clear knack for that.)Underwood doesn't believe in getting tired. I hope he starts. This was alarming when he said it a couple games ago.
No. It is two shots and the ball. I do not think it matters if he was shooting or not. I have never heard being awarded more than two free throws with a flagrant foul, unless there was a subsequent technical foul called. On the flagrant one foul on Shannon why did he only get two free throws? He was fouled in the act of shooting shouldn’t he have gotten three?
You've obviously not enjoyed the warmth and hospitality afforded opposing fans at the Xfinity Center. I have, unfortunately, on multiple occasions. When BU said he had chicken wings thrown at him previously at Maryland, I was taken aback by that. What kind of classless fans do that? That's like Philly level of classless.
That is classless; not to mention a ridiculous waste of perfectly good chicken wings. Savages. When BU said he had chicken wings thrown at him previously at Maryland, I was taken aback by that. What kind of classless fans do that? That's like Philly level of classless.
Except a lot of those games were last year when we were a complete “hero” ball team. That team had major issues. I know Brad constructed it but I give him a pass. The rest of the body of work is much better.
I dont know how anyone can trust this dude to win the big games. there's ALWAYS an excuse.
Would be sending a real message if Brad just started to eat it if it was a full wing lolThat is classless; not to mention a ridiculous waste of perfectly good chicken wings. Savages.

Wish we would have thrown a double at him to force the ball out of his hands on that last play. We didn't really stop anyone this game so it might not have mattered but make someone else beat you in crunch time.Let’s not overthink this one. Even with the defense switching for iso Boo, and NW hitting everything, we get 4 or 5 layups to drop it’s a 10 pt win on the road.
And we still had a Domask mid range for the win, which I’ll take all day.
One team was bound to go cold after that 2nd half shooting show.
I’m not even sure putting Ty in would have stopped Boo. We employed a similar strategy with Maryland and let Cliff get his 1v1, held the guards in check.
1v1 vs Boo didn’t work out so well. NW shot almost 60% for a long stretch of the game, so not just Boo.
No hot takes on this one.
Make shots, win…miss shots, los
I think it's still totally fine for Shannon to have some rust right now. Kinda figured the dude could pick up right where he left off because he's such a stud, but he's human and that's perfectly fine. Good learning lesson as a fan. Anyways, what do we think is a reasonable expectation in terms of timing to see Shannon back in his groove?I know everyone is frustrated but this is going to be the type of loss that serves this team well down the stretch. Uconn last year had a few close loses like this is January, but it served them better down the road. This team is good enough to go to the final 4 and beyond, just need to keep working on a couple things. Once Shannon gets back to himself, that will change everything
Yeah. If I remember correctly they've also thrown batteries, coins, and trash at not only opposing teams and players, but even their families watching them play. Maryland has been one of the absolute worst behaved college fanbases for a very long time, since well before they joined the B10. Whenever Duke or UNC played them there were always ugly incidents. I'm completely serious when I say that I just hope our players leave College Park safely, and I would strongly recommend TSJ's family not attend that one. You've obviously not enjoyed the warmth and hospitality afforded opposing fans at the Xfinity Center. You are spot on. however, in your analogy: "Philly level of classless." Terp fans are nothing if not aspirational.
No offense, but using this statistic is a very lazy way of fitting a particular negative narrative.

Except when the Krush did it to the Iowa kid, someone came over and told the Krush to stop. I think it was the Illini coaching staff. Hard to remember that far back.Fair enough… imagine 3,500 people chanting at you about the worst moment of your life on live TV. I’m not arguing whether it’s right or wrong. Honestly it doesn’t matter. I’m just saying let’s not act like any of us could shrug that off. TJ didn’t play great, and I can understand why.
my frustration was that NW wasn't forcing the switch with strong picks - just bringing a guy to top of the key and we kept switching unnecessarily. So tired of watching multiple players go OFF on us without doing something different.Brad went to that 5 man switching defense ...
You start having guys do ISO stuff and not what Brad wants ... You get what we had last year ...
Brad needs to take the blame for the defense and make an adjustment going forward ...
Yea, who in their right minds would waste wings? Savages indeed lolThat is classless; not to mention a ridiculous waste of perfectly good chicken wings. Savages.
