Wait, where was this in the statement. 18 teams, 20 games. Sounds like you play every team once and 3 teams twice. Some teams might not face off with each other for a year or more . . . .
Guessing it’s what you’re saying else it wouldn’t be fair. Though technically Italy is right. Teams may not play each other for a CALENDAR year or more.Wait, where was this in the statement. 18 teams, 20 games. Sounds like you play every team once and 3 teams twice.
I forgot how much this will suck for basketball now too. I didn't hate football until Washington and Oregon also came.

My prediction: we will totally hate this, except when we totally love it or are somewhere in the middle.
Totally agree. Why do we punish ourselves by having to play multiple hard fought games in a very short period, right before the tournament that REALLY matters. Add a couple of conference games and finish up early like almost everyone else.I think they should drop the BIG tourney altogether and just play regular season schedule of playing each other twice.
Why would relegation even be on the table as an option? That would not fit into the money aspect of B10 expansion. What is the Big 10 going to do with Drake, Indiana St, and SIU or Bradley? That makes no sense.Maybe they should start relegation. The bottom 3 teams not only miss the B1G Tourney, but also have to go play in the MVC the next year. The Missouri Valley sends up their top 3.
Hear me out: what if we get to skip Maryland for a year and a half? Some teams might not face off with each other for a year or more . . . .

They could always make the bottom few teams play a potential 6 games to win the tournament and have it start on Tuesday rather than Wednesday. Maybe they don't see the point of it. I don't think it matters that much tbh. No bottom tier team would win 6 games in 6 days to miraculously make a tournament appearanceI hate this so, so, so much regarding the tournament. It makes no sense to give the teams at the bottom of the conference nothing to play for.
Lowest seed ever to win was an 8 seed and only one 6 seed. That's probably all the info the B1G needed to make this decision. They could always make the bottom few teams play a potential 6 games to win the tournament and have it start on Tuesday rather than Wednesday.
