This late in the season, this game just has no upside. We already know this team can kick the crap out of bad teams. It'd certainly be fun to watch them beat Michigan by 30, but I doubt it changes anyone's opinion of the team. I won't contemplate what a loss would mean as I just can't see it happening. Until we actually register an impressive win, I will likely continue questioning my sanity every time I watch this team.

Another game for scUM in the home & away dilemma of Dug McDaniel , their poster child for academic excellence.........

I will be listening to Brian B. and either Deon or DOUG A. for an expected beatdown of the cowardly lambs from the wh**e city to the north........All medded up and enjoying the company of my beloved NL # 3 who has become as big of an Illini fanatic as I am.......

One simple thing I would like fixed:

If teams are trying to press Domask or Ty bringing the ball up... Why don't we just bring the ball up with whoever is guarded by the opposing center? You see it in the NBA all the time. I've seen it in college a lot more recently too. Nebraska brings the ball up with Mast half the time.

Just seems like a very simple fix that can take a lot of stress out of the game for Domask especially.

The key to fixing this team is to fix Quincy. Without him I’m not sure we go anywhere meaningful this year.
I had the same thought. I'm not sure what happened, but he's been a shell of his early season self for a few weeks now. I initially thought he aggravated his wrist injury again, but he seems to be shooting okay. He mostly seems....out of rhythm with the rest of the team. Passing up shots, missing defensive assignments etc.

Yep, I was saying this while watching the game. MD is getting ripped at half court while Ty has Cooper on him. Give Ty the ball, push it up court, and get into the offense. MD walking the ball up just bogs things down even if it doesn’t get ripped.

I do dislike seeing all of the MD hate as far as being a ballhandler. Guy hasn't had more than 2 TOs in a single game in over 3 weeks and he has the ball pretty much every single possession for 37+ minutes. Sometimes, even very very good players turn the ball over, get it stolen, make a bad pass. Fans see a single play and harp on it to the point that they end up framing it as if it is a regular occurrence.

Right on. Dude is asked to do A LOT. I’m not sure people realize what we get out of this kid…we get A TON out of him game in and game out. We needed someone else to step up in that instance. …..Paging Mr. Guerrier!

Marcus was mugged and manhandled the whole game. It’s the Bigten…it’s Izzo…he had a rough game. He IS not alone. It happens. He still made some nice plays. I think he does pretty well with the cards he was dealt by his coach; frankly.

The Ty-thing was spun & hyped as the answer to the RayJ-whiff and the refusal to go after anyone else…To Ty’s credit he has surpassed expectations and then some.

So Brad gets to be right that it could work. lol. But it’s hard to be that guy from the bench. The whole thing is quite perplexing.

Just seems the turnovers happen at critical late game times.

I just went through the last 3 minutes of game logs of the entire schedule. Limited myself to games decided by 10 points or less because we're only talking about reasonably close games here.

Yesterday's turnover with 1:42 remaining was his FIRST TURNOVER ALL SEASON in the final 3 minutes of a game decided by 10 points or less.

In the process of doing that research, I sure did have to weed through a lot of "Marcus Domask made free throw" and "Marcus Domask made jump shot" and "Marcus Domask made layup" though.
