Was surprised to see USF with an in conference record better than FAU (11-1 vs 10-2)

USF is 101 Kenpom, FAU is 32, USF has a 10 game win streak

I have a feeling FAU might pull this out yet If USF cools off.

or not

Wow, Temple is 1-10 in conference. I am old enough to remember when….

USF is 11-1 in conference….and it looks like they have no intent of cooling off lol

Man... who all does Purdue lose this year? I know they're 23-2 but I'm continually not that impressed when I watch them. Just game log browsing, they seem to blow out bad teams and any game against decent competition is < 7 point margin. They've won so many close games, they could easily be 19-6 instead. Kenpom says they're top 10 percentile in "Luck". Though, as we all discussed the other day, it is more likely that having a 7-4 guy who is officiated extremely favorably must be nice to have down the stretch of close ball games (ie, it's not "luck").

Thanks, for the correction

It’s funny, I live in Tampa, have a Masters degree from USF, but had no idea the bb team was doing so well.

They're doing well in conference but they have a 100 NET ranking. Beating FAU would only be their 2nd Quad 1 win this season, with the other coming a couple weeks ago at North Texas. They're 15-2 in Quad 3 and Quad 4 games. They have two bad Quad 4 losses early in the season at home to Central Michigan and Maine. Central Michigan is 3rd in the MAC currently but Maine is bad and is currently next to last in the America East.

Guessing their record in close games is closely correlated to always winning the foul disparity.

They haven't made the NCAA tournament since Fran Dunphy left the school at the end of the 2018-19 season.
Tradition-rich program with fans who really care about basketball which has been dragged into a soulless conference environment in vain pursuit of jump-starting a hopeless football program, just a classic example of the tragedy befalling college athletics.

It is a mark of great hope to me that the #1 team and defending champion in CBB is a UConn program that took basically the only blow so far against these forces by kneecapping its joke of a football program to rejoin the Big East where it belongs.

(Villanova would fight tooth and nail against Temple joining the Big East, but that's the move I'd like to see.)
