Until proven otherwise, I’m gonna assume this one will also be a track meet and it’ll come down to making a couple of stops late. I wish I could just watch us as a neutral, instead of someone who is way too invested in the outcome. I’m sure our games are a ton of fun for them, rather than totally nerve-racking.
We are like watching some of those Iowa teams the past few years, particularly their home games

Is it possible that this team is just too nice? Feel like this team is too predictable on defense and doesn’t scare people.

How to stop a jump shooter…make them fear landing akwardly, their arm being smacked hard or a hand on their face. Shooting is about rhythm disrupt the rhythm.

Just look at what teams do to Domask…black eyes, elbows to the head lots of hard fouls.

Don’t need to be dirty but maybe a bit edgy.
I agree. None of the guys on this Illini team is an enforcer. DGL and Nico can be pests (and definitely Buck is a pest), but where’s Lucas Johnson or Da’Monte Williams when we need him?

TSJ gives 100% chasing these Hawkings and Christie. Where is the effort from rest of team. If they are too tired then give them a rest on bench and try somebody else. DGL might do it if it gets him on the floor. Ty is only playing 20 mpg this is his chance to give TSJ a break. Justin tried and has quickness - maybe in quick bursts?

It's a lot cheaper too............................
That's subtle Pru, even by your exalted standards. Richard Belzer off to one side in the background, consoling a (no doubt Wisconsin-based) cow as CW explains why Badger roadkill is the superior Saturday evening entree compared with the BBQ chicken drumsticks we'll enjoy during the Illini beat-down of Bucky.

The effort is there, but guys like Domask and Goode are out of position. They aren't overly athletic and they're bigger guys chasing around guards. That's not effort, they're just bad matchups. When Harmon plays and plays well...he's their best answer for quickness. When he was in the game is when we got stops and created separation. TJ is an NBA player....the others are not.

Domask and Goode and Ty should all be guarding 3s in most cases, but often one or two of them have to guard 1s or 2s. Even TSJ in most cases, you'd prefer to stick him on a 3 and some 2s, IMO.

And teams that have 3 quick guards, Domask and Goode would struggle (somewhat) regardless defensively, but you stick them on guys that aren't as gifted as scorers, and it's all good, but with our team makeup, we just gotta do the best we can with what we have, which a lot of times means TSJ has to exert a ton of energy guarding little 1s, like Hawkins last night.

What is this from? That looks like Richard Belzer hugging the cow.

CoHawk, TSJ, Ty, QG, Marcus - Wisconsin is gonna hang 120 on you no defense-playing fools..../s
Also, none of you are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th All-Conference anything! /s
Sincerely, Wisconsin Badgers

Hang that bulletin board material in the locker room!

Anybody going to the game? Wife and I are going to recreate a mini-version of the Vegas trip, Illinois game followed by Ho-Chunk. :D 33rd wedding anniversary Saturday.

We're thinking of wearing blue rather than orange to better stand out against the red.
Recommend pacing yourself on the drinking this Saturday. You don't want to blow chunks at Ho-Chunk.

The good news is we know we will score a lot of points. The bad news is we know they will probably score more points than they have all year.

Part of me wonders if this is a function of the pace we play at which keeps our adjusted defensive efficiency at a respectable 60th in the country. But the realist in me says the eye test says another thing entirely and shows that we are a highly flawed team defensively.

We are really fun to watch though!
Good points ... i say illini guards, namely domask and rodgers, are a half a step too slow in guarding the more athleic B10 guards like buie, young, baldwin, etc ... thus the opposing guards get in the paint for an easy floater or dish off to an open big guy under the basket.

Speculating Wisconsin -2.5 with an O/U of 150.5.

Badgers have not covered in any of their past 5 games. And four of those five have gone OVER.
