Apologies if this has been discussed and I missed it - any word from the insiders on the teams health headed into this week / the tournament? Seemed based on Coleman’s interview today himself, QG, and Luke have all been playing at less than 100%. Hope we can go into the big dance fresh and healthy

The team is in a great spot and I think those three are getting a lot better

I'm with ya!!! I hope to sleep tonight, I'm so fired up for the game yet it's one I hate to see because of the men who helped make this such a special year will/may be leaving us. I think with Coleman it's really hitting me cause this young man took a BEATING from so many people over the years and I'm not talking on the court. The media, Illinois fans and god knows we all witnessed his sideline "talks" with Brad lol. In today's era of NIL you have to wonder just how many four year players will be on teams in a few years. I loved how he mentioned in his video that 'the grass isn't always greener". I hope more young men can listen and follow in those footsteps, even with NIL a person has to have a good head on his shoulder and great parents who can make sure to see GR$$NER isn't the only factor.

I could be wrong, but it seemed Michigan State had a good gameplan for this Saturday night. It seemed like they sent 3 back for the defensive rebound and the player directly challenging Edey on the rebound would just tap it towards one of the other Michigan state players near the basket. One on one you will not beat Edy for most rebounds, so this seemed to be pretty effective.
Purdue with 7 ORB Edey with 4 so below average and MSU had 11 ORB so it was effective.

I am going out on a limb and say for the first time all year at SFC the Illini come out focused and ready to play in a shootout-Illini 96-Boilers 91

A lot of talk about letting Edey go off vs. doubling and allowing a three point barrage, but to me the key to this game is doing exactly what we didn’t do last time: REBOUND. We gave up 16 on the offensive glass to them last time, were -15 on the boards overall, and I recall TKR having at least 3 back-breaking O boards that led to fouls or And-1s. I think you can live with Edey taking jump hooks but if you don’t put a body on him or anyone else and the effort isn’t there on the glass, we won’t win.
That's a very good point, and we still only lost by 5.

I think it’s all about the three ball on both ends. Illini are averaging around 9 threes made per game over the past month, and it would be around ten if you through out the 1-7 stinker at Maryland.

If we can make 10+ threes, and limit Purdue’s, I like our chances. We’ll get plenty more points in transition, with booty ball and at the FT line. Domask hung 26 on them at Mackey, with only one three made.
I like what you say, and I've always wished Marcus would shoot more treys. He did that at Wisconsin, letting it go six times (making four).

Every game this season it has felt like the other team has had a celebration or massive pregame moment and we've had to fight off both an amped-up opponent and a raucous crowd. Well, we have our own celebration this time. We get to honor 7 guys on Senior Night. Hope the team and the crowd bring everything they got.

That's what happens when you're one of the top dogs and everyone has you circled on your schedule.

If by chance painter has Edey guard Domask so he can’t bully ball his way to the hoop, is Domask quick enough to get by Edey for a lay up or will he have to settle for a bunch of 3’s?

I want TSJ to be more selfish tonight. Get him the ball in transition and just let him drive to the hoop. It’ll result in a lay up or a defensive foul 3/4 of the time. I want him to be a wrecking ball. I want him to try and yoke one on Edey even if he gets blocked. Think his speed and momentum would break off Edey’s wrist if he caught him right.

We are so dejected by the fact this game will not be shown on regular TV and we're challenged to figure out how to stream it. Hoping the crowd brings the Wake Forest energy to this game. This team is coming together so nice, just hate not being able to watch live, but we'll be staying updated.

our best to our guys, get it done!

I'm going to be 100% honest. If they put Edey on Domask and decide to give him a wide open set 3 on every play then I'm fine letting him take one every possession.

Really special experience for these young men. They've been part of something bigger than themselves and done quite well. Those memories will last a lifetime. Here's to hoping they make a few more in the coming weeks! 🥂

I think he has a pretty slow shot, to be honest.

Think Plummer. He had a very quick shot. Trent as well. Smaller guys tend to need to get shots off quickly so they work on it.

I think Marcus is abnormally slow for this level of ball though.

Everything that Marcus does just looks abnormally 'slow' to the naked eye. If I'd watched him play at SIU the prev 4 years I'd probably have serious doubts his game would translate to major conf play.
