Everyone strap in: this year's version of the “This Little Light of Mine” commercial is the cringeworthy Shai Gilgeous Alexander & Chet Holmgren duet. All hail the mute button
Being a UVA fan is the ultimate monkey's paw. You get the Natty, but also have to watch consistently the worst offense in major college basketball. 193rd this year in adjusted offensive efficiency. Just brutal, horrible, unfun stuff.Virginia showing up with their putrid offense tonight so far - on a 38-point pace through 8 1/2 minutes.
TruTv goes from a channel I completely forget exists to one of my most watched during March Madness. Could not be more excited to get this tournament started.

Feels a little self-important for a team that has made the tournament maybe twice in the last 15 yearsA signpost of college athletics being an increasingly unhealthy ecosystem:
Snubbed St. John's, OU, Pitt decline invites to NIT
First-year St. John's coach Rick Pitino told the NIT selection committee that the team didn't want to play in the also-ran event. Oklahoma and Pitt also said they didn't want to take part.www.espn.com
Such will the be the fate of the bowls shortly.
Myron Medcalf is the PBP guy. Yes, he's awful. The announcers for the Minny-Butler game (Crean and whoever) absolutely suck! Wow, they are the worst I've ever heard, EVER!
The concept of “we aren’t going to play in the NIT so we can get ready for next season” sounds so hollow.
Give your staff a chance to plan practices, or even let an assistant be the head coach for a game.
Give some players who haven’t played or who you think may be transfer portal candidates some game time.
More practices wouldn’t seem to be a bad thing.
But I do know all of those things probably are a foreign language to control freaks like Pitino. If I were running a program, I’d absolutely accept the invite and do any or all of the above. Make lemonade out of it.
