My opinion in this absolutely critical, vital matter seems to be the same as yours. But I also admit that it isn't worth

Players have talked with coaches a bit this week. Official meetings are going to start on Monday, so we should start to see some movement then. I expect 2 more transfers out and at most 3. I think there is a legit chance for both Marcus and Coleman to come back. A lot of factors will play into that though-Marcus waiver is probably 50/50, Coleman could depend on his knee.

They really want Maddox. I think they like Hill as well. Also, Boswell should be entering the portal next week. The question is do you take two of those guys plus a wing or two (Storr or someone else)? This could piss off a couple of guys on the team but it gives you more proven talent right away. Also I know they really want a stretch 4 and also maybe a 5, so that will be interesting to see what happens as well.

They really like these three kids at the four (we have been linked to all three publicly as well):

I know Amani wants to stay and the staff loves him but if they add two bigs, would be interesting to see what his outlook would be. Still think he would stay, but I would be curious to see what happens with that

Also, AJ Storr remains the #1 priority right now. Kentucky is our main challenger there but I think we have a clear edge right now. Gonna try and close that one down in the next couple of weeks.

I expect them to add at least four transfers, could be five or six depending on who leaves and what happens with Marcus and Coleman. They are hoping to have a Domask answer in the next two to three weeks

Hey really appreciate an update like this despite the dead period! Many thanks!

I believe at one time college players could only go thru the NBA draft process twice. Is that still the case? Or did that get nixed with the unlimited transfers and portal?

Was that the case with Kofi?

I mean...I can make peace with the Sencire situation I guess...but Amani too? Where do you draw the line with prep recruiting now? I know competition is a good thing, but I'm fairly sure I've heard "development program" straight out of BU's mouth?
I also know a coach having success like BU is not going to turn away talented transfers that want to buy into his program.

What a crazy time in CBB.

I think they're both good players but I think a lot of people would be very exciting by Maddox's ability to shoot.

Hill is a bit bigger guard, not super explosive but pretty smooth. Hasn't been much of a 3 pt shooter(29% and similar at juco) but his shot doesn't look broken to me and he shot a solid 74% on a bunch of attempts.

Maddox is smaller but a bit more explosive, brings more pg type skills, and is a lights out shooter. He shot 45% as a junior and 40% last year on high volume. Also, shot 86% from the line last year(career 81%). He legitimately one of the better 3pt shooters in the country.

I think people are exciting the shooting and Maddox seems like a safer bet to translate to the Big-10. I think Hill will be good but there probably a valid question to ask if he will be able to get to the basket and score inside as much on bigger longer defenders.
Have read that Maddox is better off the bounce and coming off screens. Obviously will help with shot making but will pull defenders in and get them out of rotation to open up shots for other guys.

Hill not the greatest perimeter shooter but has shown the ability to get to the rim because he's a physical big body guard better perimeter defender as well.

In a perfect world I would prefer Maddox over Hill but if Hill were an impediment to landing Storr id gladly take that chance on Hill.

The bigger question for me is who do they land at the S4 assuming Coleman does not exercise his final year of eligibility... Marcus is a total crapshoot at this point.

Serious question: Does Bronny James entering the NBA Draft actually have a chance of getting selected? I can see a scenario where a team wants to get Lebron, so they throw away a draft pick in the pursuit.

Sign 7.1 Frenchman from Stanford, get Storr and Maddox. 25 wins. Role with youngmen in program. Keep Domask and Coleman and Natty.

I'll root for Dain Dainja every single day other than if he plays a game against Illinois, but even then I'd root for him to have individual success but not team success. There are many players who would have acted like a prima donna in his situation this past season...games we were completely ineffective down low when he didn't play a single minute when he should have at least gotten a look when he did nothing but support his teammates. Add that to the work he did to get his body into the best shape he's ever been in, and I don't know how an Illini fan can't be a huge Dain supporter. Safe travels Dain. Hopefully both the city and the University of Memphis are great to you.
