How come no one is pushing Omoruyi? He looked pretty powerful against us!

Players have talked with coaches a bit this week. Official meetings are going to start on Monday, so we should start to see some movement then. I expect 2 more transfers out and at most 3. I think there is a legit chance for both Marcus and Coleman to come back. A lot of factors will play into that though-Marcus waiver is probably 50/50, Coleman could depend on his knee.

They really want Maddox. I think they like Hill as well. Also, Boswell should be entering the portal next week. The question is do you take two of those guys plus a wing or two (Storr or someone else)? This could piss off a couple of guys on the team but it gives you more proven talent right away. Also I know they really want a stretch 4 and also maybe a 5, so that will be interesting to see what happens as well.

They really like these three kids at the four (we have been linked to all three publicly as well):

I know Amani wants to stay and the staff loves him but if they add two bigs, would be interesting to see what his outlook would be. Still think he would stay, but I would be curious to see what happens with that

Also, AJ Storr remains the #1 priority right now. Kentucky is our main challenger there but I think we have a clear edge right now. Gonna try and close that one down in the next couple of weeks.

I expect them to add at least four transfers, could be five or six depending on who leaves and what happens with Marcus and Coleman. They are hoping to have a Domask answer in the next two to three weeks
Thanks!

Yup. Quality 7 footers are pretty rare in college ball. I'd love to get one (the Stanford transfer would be #1 on my list), but we're by no means doomed if we don't.
Here’s the other thing… Edey wasn't even a ranked guy as a prep.
Clingan was top 100, but not top 50. I doubt many UConn fans thought he would be this good this fast.
How many 7 footers never make the star turn?

Yeah is that why someone posted the OSU flag a few pages back with no context? Brandon Garrison looks pretty interesting. (Or maybe they're talking to Carey Booth? edit: He seems more like a Coleman type player than a true 5. Still looks interesting, though.)

He does have 15 lbs on Coleman plus an inch to grow on, but I get where you’re coming from. Fletch could put 10 lbs on him easy though.

And no jokes! About anything! Everybody here thinks they’re funny and nobody is!
Ummmmm…… so….. I’m hilarious.

I’ll take a stab. Think we would be really good if we run out something like this assuming Domask is back and no Coleman.

Maddox
Storr
Domask
Ty
Morez

Bench
DGL
Davis
Goode
Amos
Amani
I might get killed for this but I'd personally rather see Amos start over Ty in this situation. Amos shot 38% from 3 this year, and he's listed as a bit taller and a bit heavier. Love Ty, but the lack of shooting hurts so much imo.

Amani will play a lot next year. Here or somewhere else. If more bigs come in and he sees a smaller role here he will go. That's my prediction. So whoever comes in has to be a clear step up or we will be running in place.
I would like for that to be true, but his back kept him out of several games last year.

For transfer players, bench goes 8 deep. That's it.

I am not picking on your hopes for a a 2-deep squad (I have the same ones!), but realistically? Only 8 guys ever play unless there is extended injury or other reason for one of the 8 guys in the rotation to be out. I would LOVE to have 9th guys, and 10th guys contribute. But observation shows that does not happen much or really ever.

The Final Four teams often enough barely get to their 7th man. I wish it was different for the fellas on the team so that they all have a chance to contribute. But ... after no. 7 or no 8., the contribution realistically only comes on days where one of the 8 rotation guys suffers from ankle sprain, early foul trouble, illness, or other misfortune. Being a great practice player matters a whole lot but it is inglorious and rarely, rarely motivates fellas. I don't blame them. Just an observation.
