and not Nebraska
I for one trust the eye of hundreds of message board posters over that of college coaches for 30+ years
i trust the boom and bingo posted here, and the ones who posted. Who were involved in Tre's recruitment?

If that was our roster ...

I'd say the starters would be:

Boswell
Maddox
Storr
Ty
Booth

Bench:
Tre
Rez
Amani
Goode/Davis
DGL/Buck battling it out for guard minutes
Honestly thought Rez would start but I guess Booth must have unreal potential. I hope the staff works with his form.

I don't want to name names because we were in a "dead period" if you catch my drift ... But multiple P5 schools ...

TA lead for us in this one ... Tre played for MIF for AAU for a couple years ... Also attended Prolific Prep ... Where we have a connection ...

For the list of potential 13 names, I wonder who will be the leader. There is a lot of youth on that team, and while the starters are proven, I'm curious who will set the tone and rally the team.

Have you seen Boswell in person ?? That dude is not small ... And he hasn't even worked with Fletch and Sanderson yet ...

Maddox is a freak of nature athletically ...

I'm not too worried about short guards when they are EDGs ... Trent was short ... Feliz was short ... Worked out pretty, pretty good ...
We'll agree to disagree. Trent and Feliz were great, but that team also had Ayo and Kofi. Also, that team was fine, not great. They would have made the tournament but as a 5 seed at best.

I'm not crapping on Boswell or Maddox, I just think it should probably be one or the other. No NCAA champion since 2016 has started more than one player shorter than 6'3. If you want to win big, your best bet is to have size and length on the perimeter. The last team to do so was Duke in 2015 when they started Quinn Cook 6'2 and Tyus Jones 6'1.

I have a question about Boswell. He seems to be somewhat atypical in terms of who goes portalling, in that he's not "old," he's not coming from a mid-major, he's not coming from a cr*p P5 program, his coach didn't leave, the weather is nice, the coeds are like the weather, etc... Is this purely about NIL money?*

Since there’s been a lot of talk about big men recently, Indiana State’s Robbie Avila is in transfer portal.

Never seen him play. Is he any good and, if so, is he someone the illini can target and possibly get?

The culture is great right now from my perspective. Look at the progress DGL made. For half the year whenever he got playing time he didn’t see a single shot he didn’t like. By the end of the season he played really within himself giving max effort on the defensive end. With upper classmen like Harris, Ty, and Goode all enforcing the standards I’m very confident we won’t have a situation like 2022-2023. Those guys know the blueprint and formula now.

It has been said here multiple times, but he has a "no-contact order."

I highlighted the portion I had issue with, which was speaking of him having the worst attitude and giving the least amount of effort on the team. These social media posts were posted earlier in the thread.
I know. But I'm just pointing out that the effort issue was not just raised by Louisville fans.

With a roster like the one being projected here, what is the likelihood of an almost platoon style? That depth is crazy good and I don’t know how you don’t give a lot of those bench guys minutes assuming they all are bought in to what Brad is trying to do.

Honestly, this 13 is the stuff of dreams. I see legit 10 guys you can rotate in and provide great minutes. Outstanding stuff by the staff if this is what we end up with.
Honestly think it's possibly 12 deep which is absurd since your never going to go that deep.

Boswell, Maddox, Storr, and Ty have proven they can contribute at the college level.

Goode, Davis, and Harris can be penciled in as role players since they all bring at least one skill(shooting or defense) that can make them relevant.

Booth, White, and DGL are not proven but have all flashed plus traits.

Hansberry didn't play much but was a highly touted recruit and did at least showcase some strength and shooting ability. Then Morez is the highest recruit since Ayo.

All that being said, injuries happen, guys won't pan out and will get buried. Maybe I'm wrong but it feels like a team that will stay in the top 25ish, but I don't think they will win the conference, or make a deep run.

5 seed and sweet 16 upside imo. Very solid roster but I don't see a true difference maker for next year outside of Storr. I could be wrong but it would take big jumps from a couple of Booth, Boswell, Ty, White, or Morez being unbelievable as a freshman(like one and done lottery pick).

The rumors last year were that he wasn't happy with Bradley coming in. He gave it a year and now he's transferring. I'm not sure how much you have to outbid a school to steal a player. I kinda doubt that NIL is a huge issue in this. Coaching, minutes, teammates all can be factors. I'm sure there are plenty with more details.

I think Boswell has that potential. He was in mock drafts for a good chunk of the season before he went into a slump.

Arizona has a lot of players in the portal, might be something more there with the team that we're not aware of. (Or it could be that they're all looking for NIL like you said.)

Historical precedent seems to indicate that isn’t likely. We have never run a bench deeper than 8-9. The staff knows their biggest challenge is managing roles and expectations/buy in. It all comes back to culture. Same as it ever was.

Brad can’t coach… Brad can’t get to the second weekend…yada yada yada. I heard the same stuff last year and look what happened this year.
