Having Thiero above Boswell, Oweh and Mark is insane ... Dude averaged 7 & 5 ...
Don't know why they're rated where they are, but looking at their stats...

Thiero is ahead on WS/40 and ORtg-DRtg. He was more efficient (by TS%) than all of those except Mark, and had way more rebounds and blocks per possession than all of them. Much lower on assists though, and slightly lower on steals. He had low usage and low minutes, so there's a big unknown on how he'd do with starter minutes/usage.

Don't know for sure where we stand with the last one though ...
Been crystal clear from day 1 that he's ours if we're the top bidder by $0.01, and gone if we aren't.

not too dissimilar to our pickup of Guerrier last year
I guess my feeling is that I see basically no chance that he's our 5th-6th option.

Him being a top 3 scorer or not playing at all are both much more likely outcomes than him just being a blah role player, because the factors that would make him a blah role player would mean we have better options on the roster to fill those minutes.

Whereas Guerrier had settled into that kind of complementary role at Oregon and came to us as a fully developed super senior. A lower variance asset.

Agree ... I think this could move pretty quick ... Staff is extremely confident in getting all 4 guys at the top of their board ...

If things go Brad's way ... The team will be complete before May ...
I like this mainly for multiple self-interested reasons, but I gotta admit that I also like moving quickly b/c it gives other guys currently on the team a chance to reflect on the new squad and weigh their future here more concretely. I don't want guys to transfer out, but I do want them to be given the opportunity to make these important decisions with full information and time to act, rather than feeling like they're the guy left without a chair when the music stops and the portal is closed.

Agreed, Tre is certainly higher variance than Guerrier. Higher upside but also distinctly higher risk. I too don't see blah role player for him. But I also think our 6th and 7th men this year will likely get very solid minutes (15-20mpg), so I do think there's going to be wiggle room there from starter or bust. I'd guess he'll be fighting for one of those roles this year. He has the ceiling to get there for sure, but he'll need to bring it from an effort standpoint to get past our high effort gatekeepers

I assume you mean Storr, Boswell, Booth and Maddox? That would be oversigning by one which makes sense.

Sorry, you've answered it above . . .

I guess we're jumping the gun on Moretti, true

Recruiting is fluid anyway, I have a waterside shack that says one way or another it won't be that exact foursome.

Love the White add. The multi - year guys will make the 24/25 team good and the 25/26 team special or should I say ELITE. Potential for Booth and Boswell = extremely young and expect them to improve (body and skills) with time in the system.

Exciting times.

Love the insiders sharing information in real time.
It is funny. I see this a lot calling them multi year. I guess you are right in the sense they can play multiple years but every year they could just transfer only that year is guaranteed. I don't even think they can be penciled in for another season.

Are we in the hunt for a true 5? (Don’t recognize Davis. Is he a 5?)
The idea would be that Morez, Hansberry and Booth would be enough coverage.

Talent and player profile wise I agree with that. Scary young though.

This roster is going to look better than last year's if things go our way here. But it is going to be DRAMATICALLY less experienced, which I think should temper too crazy of expectations.

Oh yeah! Thanks.
I had the same thing happen when Indy listed his lineups at one point. I thought he was talking about the guy from Indiana St, and was wondering if he’d be here for that small of a roll until I remembered we signed Davis.

That one was so quick I think a lot of people lost site of it, for example those tweets touting White as our 1st signing of the portal period.

Maybe I just have trauma watching Illinois get dominated by every big man they played this year. Felt like they need to get that in the portal. Hope I’m wrong.
Amani is a banger. Just not supersize or shot blocker. With Dain gone I think he will be charged with defending the big 5's. It would be nice to have another banger to give 5 fouls defending the post but if we can only have one more big I am happy with a shot blocker like Booth.

JMO - I think Storr will go NBA draft. The NBA drafts based on potential and you can see his great athleticism. Personally I think he would be better served to stay 1 more year at a top 10 program, become an All American, and aim to be a lottery pick. However it may be the NBA does not care. I like Brad is signing other solid players and not waiting on Storr. If he comes he comes.
