I get that the collectives are doling out the cash, but isn't anyone asking for a written contract, with all the promises that are given? I'd be asking for it if I were in the athlete's shoes.

It takes a while for word to get around. You have to consider that NIL is relatively new, and there's no standard for agreements. Even with that, how saavy is a kid going to be? If any of us actually read all the terms and conditions on the various agreements we've no doubt made, we'd be ashamed of ourselves.

It's good to hear the Illinois boosters are prioritizing reputation and transparency.

A 24/7 Arizona insider just gave Boswell a crystal ball to Illinois. That’s three now.
Excited Lets Go GIF

He's going to get 800 or more from Illinois. Just need to negotiate to a point where both sides are happy. He wants to go to Illinois
Storr's profile is VERY similar to TSJ going into this year and didn't TSJ make like $900K in NIL (we know from the court filings) - Storr will likely get that

From a statistical comparison - they are the same player
GP GS Min FG FG% 3P 3P% FT FT% OR DR Reb Ast Blk Stl PF TO
363628.86.0-13.843.41.3-4.232.03.5-4.381.21.12.83.90.90.10.61.11.616.8

The top row is Storr last year, bottom is TSJ going into this year

Storr was second team all big ten as a sophomore. He should warrant a significant investment. Even if doesn't develop beyond what he was last year. If he gets better....

Assists & Turnovers - notable discrepancies there, otherwise yeah, looks pretty similar. I'd give TJ a good edge defensively, also.

AJ - 1.6 TOV, 0.9 AST
TJ - 2.6 TOV, 2.8 AST

100% ... You talk to any of our players ... We give them a range of what they could make ... We tell them what's guaranteed ... VERY transparent ...

Shoot - we paid Skyy Clark even after he left ... I don't even think I personally would have done that ...

But just goes to show what kind of people you are dealing with here at Illinois vs somewhere else ... Where you might get paid or you might not ...
No wonder Skyy has been so complimentary about Illinois online. Is there an anti-disparagement clause or just appreciative that we paid what we said we would?

Although I've read that it's likely that Johnell Davis follows his coach, are we in at all on him? Seems like a pretty good 1B option to Storr's 1A. Has anyone read what his NIL ask might be?

If Jamal Shead stays in the draft he should go to Houston. Would be a nice fit

Do we know the conversion rate of crystal balls and hats consumed?
The lowest hit rate of the Crystal Ball givers on Boswell is around an 84% hit rate and the guy giving one for Storr is at 100% but only 16 previous attempts. However all of these predictor have only a 6 or 7 in confidence.

While I certainly want Maddox and Storr, Boswell and Booth are more important for our floor as a team next year. I love Maddox, but I think we can find someone similar in the portal if we miss out on him. Storr has the most upside of anyone in the portal, so he raises our possible ceiling pretty significantly for next year, but he also has some risks associate with him.

Lets lock down Boswell and Booth this weekend and see what happens next.

No one is a sure thing until they are signed. These guys want money bags. In Storr's case, that may be way more than we are willing to give. I would love for him to come here, be a team player and get coached up. Guess we will wait and see. I don't believe in those so called forecasts. We saw where a lot of those got us last year.

I say get rid of the "confidence" feature. Make your prediction and own it.
