Second prize is a set of steak knivesIf players are afraid to compete for minutes like Booth and Amani would be then they can hit the bricks. Go to struggling programs like Skyy and Epps did that play that game.
One reason I am fired up about DGL is he is ready to stay and compete for minutes.
Can't let the momentum die or the program will be tarnishedThis is the University of Illinois ... We compete for Big Ten and National Championships ... Year in and year out ...
Anything else is unacceptable ...
How tall is Brad? 6-4 or so?
Certainly is a DERON WILLIAMS clone in many ways……
I’ve also thought the college baseball model is the way college basketball and football should be.I actually am rooting for it to escalate as I hope that leads to revised model more like college baseball with minor leagues. College basketball would be for students/athletes who want to be there.
I would need to have a better sense of the alternative to answer that question really.
Also, I really do believe the cost is TBD. The staff might think they know how much ammo is out there and how much desire there is for Storr, but they don't and inherently can't.
John Tyson owns original Andy Warhol's. He can get AJ Storr. If Kentucky and Mark Pope thinks that's a move that can save face, they can get AJ Storr.
But that said, Boswell and Storr would be worth going pretty crazy for, IMO. High risk, but Final Four type upside.
I don't believe a word until they are actually in the uniform on GameDay especially in the era it's at nowWill never cease to be amazed by what a lot of Illinois fans will believe based on what coaches instruct their sycophants in the media to report.
I think its pretty obvious we where we stand with Booth and Boswell. If no Storr and Maddox just remember there will be more great players enter the portal.
Patience is a virtue for a reason.
That's not unique to Illinois and its fans. Will never cease to be amazed by what a lot of Illinois fans will believe based on what coaches instruct their sycophants in the media to report.
I watched LaTulip's assessment of White and was encouraged. He liked what he saw on tape and felt the coaching and leadership from coaches or lack there of at Louisville didn't help White play to his strengths. LaTulip said White took a a dozen off the dribble threes and only hit two but on catch and shoot threes he did much better at 34 percent last year and can build on that at Illinois. LaTulip felt with some leadership and a few years left to grow that he is a solid add with ability, athleticism and potential.I’ve been watching some Tre White video and I think he may end up being the sleeper of this portal class. He’s really talented and better defensively than he’s getting credit for. Get him here with our development and he may be this years Domask. I could be totally crazy and you can pull receipts on me if I’m wrong.
I’m just encouraged by his ability.
Some of you act like the money is coming out of your pocket and take it person if the university spends it. I’m not sure I follow the logic. Who cares if they pay a kid 20 mill? It’s not your money. If they have the money use it to the very last red cent.1.5M is a whole different set of circumstances. That's ridiculous. There's not one player, not named Zach Edey, that would have been worth that last year and even moreso for this year.
Storr is a heck of a player and could be a headliner on a really good team.....but that's a put your team on your back and carry them to a Final Four type of deal/arrangement. He's nowhere remotely close to that type of guy. There isn't a kid available with that type of talent.
Like the same ones who thinks the state of Illinois pays Brad UnderwoodSome of you act like the money is coming out of your pocket and take it person if the university spends it. It's reasonable to assume there's a max amount of NIL money (excluding what Domask and Hawkins would get if they return). There's also a finite amount of playing time and recruiting effortSome of you act like the money is coming out of your pocket and take it person if the university spends it. I’m not sure I follow the logic. Who cares if they pay a kid 20 mill? It’s not your money. If they have the money use it to the very last red cent.
We're operating on the premise that there is an end to the NIL funds. Let's use the term salary cap. Some of you act like the money is coming out of your pocket and take it person if the university spends it. I’m not sure I follow the logic.
