While I do think Shannon deserves to be in the 11-15 range, I think he'll be second half of the first round. A team that needs a win-now player (which would pick later in the draft) is where he fits more. On the other hand, Reinsdorf loves the Chicago-Illini connection because it fills seats even if it might not make the most sense based on who's on the board and where the Bulls realistically are in terms of competing. (The Bulls won't be competitive until 2026 at the earliest thanks to the Ball and Vuc contracts.)

Chet was top 5 in blocks
Agree that rim protector isn't needed in OKC - Holmgren fits that one. The issue with the Thunder is they need a "dirty work/rebounder" type of player. He's not my favorite guy, and I don't expect a youth-based team like the Thunder to entertain the idea, but that team really needs a Draymond Green-type of player.

But I do agree with what was discussed that TSJ with SGA would be a lot of fun to watch and would probably put me on the OKC bandwagon in terms of which NBA team I'd actively follow. I really liked that OKC team anyway this year.

Not a rim protector necessarily but a big enforcer body down low. Chets soft as charmin. Not a great rebounder relevant to his size because he’s just not strong enough to bang down low and secure boards yet.

Freakishly long though.

The ESPN.com mock draft earlier this week had the Thunder taking Nikola Topic, who plays in Europe. He tore his ACL recently so they could draft him and essentially redshirt him this upcoming season and then could have him eventually replace Giddey if they have to move Giddey due to luxury tax concerns.

I swear these Slavic countries just have a factory cranking out basketball player clones all named "Nikola ____ic."

Guess who’s first on this list of lottery pick surprises? 😁
It's almost like he's been plopped in the draft at the last minute as a mystery player, which might actually work quite well for his stock. Obviously he's been thoroughly scouted, but I sense teams (and mock drafts) haven't really known what to do with him because of the legal stuff.

There will be teams just flatly uninterested in a 24 year old rookie. But there will also be teams less bothered by that, and in a draft with such low probability assets, I think his high floor is going to get targeted early by someone.

Ayo has grown in his time in Chicago but Coby White has pretty much overtaken him on the roster.
I’m not sure you’re fully correct here. Coby has surpassed Ayo, BUT they both played key roles and have their own spots on the roster and future with the Bulls. In fact, at one point, I read an article this year saying how Coby was going to be a factor in the Most Improved Player award, but that Ayo would likely steal votes and compete also.

They do have key roles but Coby is a bonafide starter at this point. Ayo is likely a bench guy on the Bulls roster who may start in spots if one of the other guards is injured or otherwise unavailable. I'm not sure where you're getting Ayo stealing votes for MIP. He didn't even get any votes period for that award this year.

Anyone have a good mock draft site to refer to?

Seems like when I do a simple google search, the sites that are returned are either kind of dated and old or simply look lazy and badly organized.

A good one? I'm not sure that exists... I'm sure a lot of sites will be updating over the next few days. The deadline to withdraw from the draft was yesterday.
