I don't consider Ivisic a freshman - I get he has to adjust to the college game but 21 years old...I don't see him as a freshman.

JMO...I think Morez is the freshman we should be least concerned about. He might have some growing pains, which are expected and normal...

but guys like that...his motor his physicality...just his playstyle and the way he plays overall... - I don't see him having that great a struggle and being underwhelming. The fact that he won't start just speaks to how good this team is.
I am not saying this with any malice or snarkiness in my tone, but it doesn't really matter if you don't consider Ivisic a freshman--he is a freshman (until it comes out otherwise). His age doesn't matter. If 17 year olds can be college freshman, why is it so weird that a 21 year old is a freshman. I was a 28 y/o freshman and if I would've joined a sports team, I would've been LoyalIllini10--FR (name legally changed ;)).

TL;DR: If Ivisic comes in with 4 years of eligibility, he is a freshman even if he is 21.

It's in this article.

"Under the agreement, the NCAA would be required to grant an additional year of eligibility to Division I athletes previously deemed ineligible under the transfer eligibility rule since the 2019-20 academic year."

Lathon sat out 2020-2021 due to transferring so unless I'm missing something it seems like he would have a leg to stand on.
Yes- it’s pretty clear Lathon gets another year - the agreement specifically applies to his situation but it is odd we haven’t heard about his destination- maybe he’s just going to play another year at Morehead St

Should have much higher expectations than with a typical freshman. He’s been playing against grown men in the EuroLeague.

Illinois staff believes they have a great shot to lock up another 2025 recruit before the end of the summer.

I don't think being mocked 5 picks higher is necessarily indicative of "more promising".
I take no opinion on these guys NBA stocks until I see them more closely.

But having spent the past few months watching so much prospect tape, the guy whose game made me go "wow" was Jakucionis.

I think Riley is terrific, I think Morez has become a bit underrated around here, what an incoming class in general, but the freshman I have the highest expectations for next year is KJ. I'm more convinced he's a Day One core piece than I am for Riley.

Hot take: by end of next year Humrichous has pushed himself into the draft conversation.

From what I can see the #1 skill nba teams are looking for is shooting, and he’s got a great, high, quick release and can shoot off movement at 6’9. And we will see how he does against a higher level of competition but his highlights indicate that athletically, at a minimum he’s not a stiff.

If he shoots 40% from 3 this year on similar volume to last year and proves to be at least adequate on D (ie better than Payton Sandfort), I think he gets looks.

I think if he has a big year, he's a fringe 2-way or G-league guy. But anyhoo, fun fact about him is he's 1 of 5 players in the past decade over 6'8" to meet the following criteria: assist to turnover ration of 1.5, >55% on two's, 40% on threes while taking nine or more per 100 possessions with a BPM of >5.5.

Those other guys are Duncan Robinson, Sam Hauser, Cam Johnson & Trey Murphy III. We have a good one!

Good stat! And not to toot my own horn but all of those guys are currently cashing NBA paychecks.

Ah, from a college-readiness perspective, I agree.

Did Denim end up getting paid more than we paid KJ? WR?
