Coaches talk about running the football and it irritates the hell out of me.
At the college and professional levels against the best competition, offenses
need to do what the defense isn't expecting. Running and passing in a
balanced attack is ideal, but this Illinois team is not going to effectively run
the ball against Penn state, Ohio State, Michigan (maybe Iowa) when they
know its coming. You can create "balance" by throwing the ball, getting the
defense to back off a bit and running when the pass is established. Yes, we
should be able to run the ball effectively against Purdue this week, but the
rest is just coach speak. Look at the Michigan offense, you can be loaded with
talent, but when the passing game is ineffective you are screwed.

Flying from Socal for this game. Can handicapped parking at SFC be purchased/reserved ahead of time or is it a game day payment?

I believe if you have an ADA plate/placard, you can get reserved parking on the day of game for $30 (not sure exactly how that works if you have a rental car). Parking passes are fully sold out at this point, unless you go through secondary market (which tends to be much more expensive).

ADA lots: 34, 35, 38 & 39 (around State Farm Center)

Just did a little searching on the gameday guide. As @Illini2010-11 stated, ADA parking is in the 4 quadrants of SFC. Also, there are golf cart shuttles that can take you to and from the game starting 2.5hrs before gametime. I think we will probably utilize this as we have a family member who is disabled.

Just make sure that you have the placard or designated plate when you go, as you can then purchase the tickets at the entrance. Otherwise, it is donor parking passes only (I know because my season parking passes are in lot 39). You cannot pre-purchase online, though there are a number of tickets available on secondary market for these lots (though prices are much higher than the $30 you can get on day of game). If you have the valid documentation, then pay day of game...you will save a lot of money.

Might have been asked already but when’s the last time we were 19.5 favorites against a big ten opponent?
Illinois dominated as a 16 point favorite in 2022 @NW, lost as 17 point favorite against Michigan State that same year (we all remember that deflating game). Not sure about 20 point favorites though...

Last year, I recall almost every B1G game being around a one possession spread one way or the other.

Does anyone know where neighborhood parking restrictions end? Can you park west of Neil? I can’t seem to recall as I don’t see permanent signs.

Robert with a good reminder that winning is hard in his latest article. Too many examples to list, but in 2021 Nebraska probably wonders how a truly wretched Illinois team thumped them 41-23. In 2022 the Purdue game probably stung the most but we had no business losing to MSU. Last year a pretty good Maryland team is probably still wondering how they let us come into their house and beat them.

Anything can happen and I anticipate Purdue will play much better than they did at Wisconsin. I still think we’ve got too much talent for them, so long as we play as well or better than we did against Central Michigan, we will be fine. Would just assume use our lay an egg game in Eugene, where the ducks have won 32 of the last 33 or something ridiculous.

Between 2011 and 2019 or so, we unfortunately all got too good at discussing coaching changes. Never a fun thing given we had two men's basketball changes, four football changes (from Zook to Beckman to Cubit to Lovie to FINALLY Bielema), and even women's basketball.

Man, Mike Thomas was a train wreck. Whitman also didn't cover himself in glory with the Lovie hire either, but he's made up for it after that.
Robespierre has nothing on Thomas Beckman Cubit-Groce's four-year reign of (t)error.
