Hopefully there were lots of defensive players hoping to play early
I think a HS player would see an exciting high-scoring game with a mostly-engaged crowd. While not ideal for those of us wanting to see a tighter defense, I think that’s pretty good in getting Illinois to be seen as a great place to play.
