I hope so.

I learned at the tailgate before the Michigan game that Altmyer is a Sr. and Illinois is looking in the portal for a 1 year wonder QB. This group tailgates every week.
Are they also one of the groups that gets abnormally loud when Illinois is on offense but relatively silent when on defense?

As Mr Tibbs said, Altmyer has one year of eligibility left, if he so chooses.

Your comments are making me think that those who lived through the 1980's may actually have been suffering more than others, because we've known all along where our athletic programs could/should be with the right AD at the helm.
I'm a 1981 Grad and Football season ticket holder since 1981.
27 consecutive home sellouts (over 70,000) in the 80's. 1983 B1G Champs and Rose Bowl hooked me for life. I thought that was what it was going to be like being an Illini fan. Wrong!
This past Sat. Michigan game had the feel of the 80's again.
Hopefully, Bielema is taking us back to that level of success and fan engagement.

This team has shown, to my eye, a particular ability to limit explosive plays from opponents. That absolutely must continue against Oregon, if we're to have a chance.

Also, have to continue to be positive in the turnover margin. This has been a definite strength, this season, and is a crucial element of our ability to win games.

Finally, BLJ will again have a monumental task ahead of him and he will need to dig deep into the pantry. He must call a perfect game, frankly, knowing which ingredients to sprinkle in at which times to create a winning sauce. Games like @Nebraska give me hope that he has the ability.

With a little luck, I believe a world-stunner is possible. I'm not expecting it, but even just believing it can happen is a nice place to be. Go Illini!

Along this line, it is essential that the Illini can maintain ball control and have extended drives that result in points. 3 and outs will be fatal, as Oregon can score at near will. The key to winning is: 1) Luck (fortunate bounces, etc.) 2) Long sustained drives (limit the number of game possessions) 3) Force a couple turnovers

Illinois will be unable to keep up in a shootout.

Nobody expects us to win this. Trust in Juice.

I'd never seen anything like that fourth quarter, when IIRC we controlled the ball for north of 13 minutes. Just masterful. I didn't get to see the game on the day but still have the DVD of the whole thing. I'd departed a wedding reception in Calgary, Alberta around 7 p.m. and as I drove back to my friend's house found a U.S. AM radio station carrying ESPN. I still recall exactly where I was on the cloverleaf entrance ramp to the TransCanada highway when I heard the score. Opened the window of my rental car and screamed.

The cherry on top was how pi$$ed off Michigan fans were because we'd ruined The Game the following Saturday.

I watched at Murphy's, then stormed out onto Green Street with thousands of other bargoers where we went to the Alma Mater statue and sang Hail to the Orange at the top of our lungs. What a night that was.

Ha, likely, I didn't really know them or sit with them but it wouldn't surprise me. I was listening to their convo and just walked away.

Did you make it to the stadium for the attempt to take down the goalpost, followed by a cop showing up and scaring everyone away? Great freshman year memories!

I was at work at Market Place Mall "watching" along on the dusty af computer at the JCP catalog counter via ESPN updates. As soon as it ended, I got a flood of texts where to be.

Shut down KAMs that night with Vontae Davis (RIP)

I know others will disagree, but I think we need to go O-W-O here. Blue pants would be muted going against black pants. But the white jerseys and orange pants should really pop going up against the yellow and black.
Nah. 30 year old me wasn't quite up for those kind of shenanigans.

I wish i cared about the color of the uniforms like a lot of you do but dont think it matters one way or the other with regards to how they perform.

First, I'm extremely happy to have suffered my first set-back in last week's prognostication! Just hoping I have similar results this week, because there's no way I can predict fully overcoming a 21-point Vegas line. But I do see a pathway to victory --- BB. I believe I even heard Urban Meyer call Bielema the best coach in the Big 10. (It happened while he was analyzing the fake punt play with DiNardo.) If we can pull it off, I think this just might rank as our biggest win all-time in program history.

However, this one looks like the PSU game all over again with a massive talent advantage on the opposing sideline. Then factor-in the 2000 miles of one-way travel.

34 - ducks
17 - ILLINI

(6-1 YTD predicting the winner; 5-2 YTD against the spread)
