There are a few things that are a little different about Autzen, first, not noise related, but the field runs East West rather than North South like most fields. Second, it's dug into the ground, I believe the playing surface is lower than the parking lot. Third, it was built for football only so the fans are much closer to the field and they are elevated so the front row is probably 8-10 feet above the playing surface. This puts the fans about 10-12 feet from the opposing bench. The East and West Endzones have large video screens and scoreboards, the North side has a wall of vertical sky boxes and on the South side you have the roof. I suspect all of these to some degree (except the East West field) impact keeping the sound inside the stadium and focused on the playing field.Doesn’t Autzen have some sort of unique thing like a European-style roof/canopy that holds noise in? I know Autzen is a loud location despite being small-ish, and I thought something helped keep the noise in.

Also, we don't have a lot of fans sitting on their butts during games.
Commented on a ducks video that we will win 38-35 and I think they have put out a hit on me lol
Also their TE Ferguson is out. So that is a plus for us. We have a hard time covering TE
How do teams get their equipment to the island when they play at Hawaii?

96 1/2 hours to game time. It's our time. Make the best of it fellas.
Shout out to Josh Whitman for the culture he has created. I was hard on him early on, but he had a vision some of us did not see. Whitman, Bielema and Underwood have brought excitement beyond our wildest Illini dreams.
I will be eating Duck a L'Orange Saturday night in celebration.
we're definitely not short on very good tight ends. Herbert (Justin's brother) and Shadiq (perhaps the best athlete playing for Oregon this year) are the #2 & #3 TEs

I had to use my retired teacher “Shush! We’re on offense” three times last Saturday. There’s a guy whose heart is in the right place, but who obviously doesn’t know/understand football, who starts a very loud I-L-L chant when Illinois has done something good on offense. Too many people who don’t know football answer him. Drives me crazy…But omg i'll take another packed MS doing this all year!!!
Strategically place fans in the know to shush each section!!

That’s clearly not a real teacher. The printing is way too sloppy.
Eh, I'm just happy that we've had enough fans in the stadium to impact either team... it's truly been that long. When our fans get up and start clapping when it's 3rd down and were on offense I lose my mind lol
Am I missing something? Seems like an overtly and purposely pessimistic reading of our covering the PSU spread. We lost by 14, and they scored their last 7 in garbage time.We covered 19.5 by the absolute skin of our teeth at PSU, then gave up 49 points at home to Purdue.
I kinda like us to cover that line (this is not a Chip Kelly run-it-up Oregon offense anymore), but it's two touchdowns without breaking a sweat.
Michigan is DRAMATICALLY worse than Oregon. No comparison.
I, too, am going to travel to Oregon on Thursday for the game. This will be my first Illinois game since 2009! Pretty sure we have some sick seats too!
