The steep decline of Illini football started around the same time. This game is the result having 30 years of incompetence versus 30 years of competence.

We have also not seen this much speed all year either...highly correlated. Illini have not played well, but this is what Oregon does to teams. They are #1 for a reason.

Demoralizing as this game is, we have already exceeded my win prediction (5) and have 4 very winnable games coming up. Our recruiting is getting more competitive and hopefully helps close talent gaps this wide in this future. Realistically, they’re way more talented and making far fewer mistakes

No one expected elite from the Illini. We expected them to be competitive.. right now this defense looks like a JV team and being coached like they are just trying to get to next week. Way too many pats on the back. I wish our coaches had the mentality of the Oregon coach. We beat a bad bad bad Michigan team last week and we acted like it was the Super Bowl
