The only surprise for me here is Melendez. So much talent with production not adding up. As for Curbelo, glad to see him flourishing. He brings much joy to the court when he plays. But in the end, without a solid shot from the arc, he likely would ride the bench for the Illini. Sad to see such an entertaining player missing such a huge skill that becomes more and more important to their future and dreams every year.

I might have been way wrong on Storr.

May be just me, but a lot of that Storr portal recruitment reminded of a fantasy basketball draft, Kansas took him more to keep other schools from getting him than they wanted him themselves.
And I thought it was a miss not grabbing a 2nd team all B1G wing.....

CoHawk’s first game stats with K State look remarkably similar to some of his games with Illini.

The good: 9 rebs. 5 assists, 1 steal, 1 block
The bad: 2-9 shooting,1-6 from 3

I mean that's who Cohawk is. Can stuff the star sheet and is capable of shooting better but he's not a scorer or a guy that's really going to create his own shot.

would Illinois be happy with 5-5-9 in 32 minutes
or Humrichous 14-1-5 in 17 minutes

I know I am happy with the current roster even as Illinois goes through some growing pains!

Watched the game. CoHawk was the ultimate glue guy in this one. Facilitating, rebounding, and great D. I'm pretty sure he'll be worth every penny he's getting in NIL.

I always have wondered if RJ is 100% happy and does not care what others think about HIS OWN LIFE !! He plays because he loves basketball, he is more interested in getting a great education and his happiness for the future?? Just my opinion....I wouldn't be shocked at all, and am happy for him!! To me. regrets and vengeful thoughts are wasted energy!!! JMHO
