I believe in this team a lot, I think more than a lot of the board which is rare for me.

But I watched a bit of UNC-KU last night, and I would just believe in us a lot more if it were one year from now. This is still the Covid super senior's sport.
True. Makes me wonder what the chances of Ivisic sticking around for another year or 2 are, because if that happened, he’d be the equivalent of a Covid super senior at that point. (and by then that will be an outlier instead of the norm)

After two games, the 2024-25 scoring seems a little clearer. Speculating our three NBA guys will lead the way. Here's my guess, with an 8-man rotation once conference season rolls around:

16 - KJ (we need the ball in his hands at crunch time)
16 - Ivisic
16 - RIley
9 - Humrichous (80% of his scoring will come from threes)
7 - White
7 - Kylan
6 - DGL
5 - Morrez
1 - Booth
1 - J.Davis
----
84
Riley will be stand alone leading scorer and Booth will be in the rotation.

No chance we're top 5 at any point this year
Odd thing to state. 1st, because the person was replying to a hypothetical. 2nd, because we have a ton of potential.

You feel differently? Are you saying no chance we’d be top 5 if we started 7-0 or are you saying we have no chance to be top 5 because we won’t be good enough this year?

In general, if you don’t think we’ll be good enough to be top 5, you’re probably right, but NO CHANCE?

5 losses should be sort of the o/u number for losses coming out of 2024.

7-0? - we're not winning any of ARK, TENN, BAMA. No.

Need to win the others to have a respectable non-con.

All right. Cool. The main point I was making was that dude said “hypothetically” and you said “no chance” to someone who responded to the hypothetical. Didn’t make sense.

All good.

Have you looked at the schedule? 5 losses on new years day would mean going 1-5 vs: Tennessee, Arkansas, Bama, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Missouri.

There's always the possibility, but highly unlikely. That's worst case scenario. To say that's the over under or whatever you mean just makes no sense.

Why aren't we winning any of those games? Why is it impossible?

Alabama nearly lost to Arkansas State.

Serious question: Have you ever watched a college basketball game before?

Don't count out Oakland.

Serious question: Have you watched the Ole Miss game? And furthermore, did you see how that same Ole Miss looked vs... oh uh..... Grambling State?

Yes, I watched the Ole Miss game. They're a really good team. They're an older team. They have 7 players who averaged 13+ ppg on Div I teams last season.

Oakland has lost by 50 points twice already and the season is less than a week old.

Oakland is a sub-200 college basketball team, similar to the ones we just beat by 45 and 32 points, respectively. But, don't count them out. Okay...

Arkansas State can hang with Alabama... but not Illinois... we're not anywhere near as good as Arkansas State, or for that matter, Oakland? Is that really the argument you are going to bring here?

You should be used to all this wild takes on Loyalty….this are pretty much the norm, the sky is falling squard. I wondered why the games are even played since we’ve already conceded to losing.

Don't care what anyone says, this team has the talent, attitude and coaching to win a ton and be a 1 seed in the tourney. A lot of ball to play, but we are loaded and only getting better.

Ole Miss was a message game, like many preseason games. I don't know for sure, but it seemed like Brad let them play some 1v1 and try their way. The players played to win, but the coaching maybe not. The lose is more valuable than win.

... or it might just be my orange colored glasses.

I was going to post something along this line, too, but I couldn’t find a reference to something I thought BU said after the game. I am almost sure that he said something about not really making adjustments in the Miss game, or maybe just a few adjustments. He just let them play and try to figure things out themselves. Or something like that. But I can’t find the source for that, or, rather, I think it would take me too long. Does anyone else remember his saying something like that?

I watched the Mississippi game. I saw a young team that wasn't ready the first 20 minutes. Ran in to a buzz saw of ol !!! dudes ready to swing at us. Second 20 we won.
Also teams have off nights, and also nights when everything drops. That's why it's fun.

Agree on talent. Disagree on experience.
