Absolutely crazy, unprecedented collapse. This was a pretty good analysis https://slate.com/culture/2024/11/f...noles-college-football-season-losses-acc.htmlView attachment 37311
Biggest collapse over 13-1 to 2-10 (if they beat Charleston Southern and lose to Florida). Crazy collapse. Definitely out if next season is bad. FSU expects championships. Not like they are playing in B10 or SEC.

Florida State can't afford to fire Mike Norvell -- and can't afford to keep him
An all-in investment gone horribly wrong: Florida State can't afford to fire Mike Norvell, and can't afford to keep him.www.usatoday.com

Things are really falling apart in Tallahassee. Their recruiting class defections are much worse than Walters' at Purdue.
Wait until they start losing guys to the portal
well, without seeing the buyout, it's impossible to tell.
Welp, looks like he could be parking it in Bloomington a little while longer.
Guarantee you that's why they did it. That buyout just got a lot larger. I have been wrong plenty, but I'm almost sure of this. His salary was doubled and assistant pool was bumped.well, without seeing the buyout, it's impossible to tell.
I'm sure it's larger. Just how big a barrier to a well funded SEC program remains to be seen.Guarantee you that's why they did it. That buyout just got a lot larger. I have been wrong plenty, but I'm almost sure of this. His salary was doubled and assistant pool was bumped.
CC may remain loyal to the school who gave him a shot.
This is his shot for the bronze statue for changing the football culture in Bloomington.
Money is great, being a legend is greater.
IU has money. I think he stays. He is now paid like an SEC coach. He is probably top 10-15 in country. After the JMU Hoosiers leave, he will have to recruit to replenish. Can he do it at IU? I know they had a committed 5* USC commit on campus last weekend. He is aging, he has the process started there, why restart again? We will find out this offeseason.not many statues of coaches without a national championship. The question is can he do it at IU.
if he leaves it won’t be for money. It will be for a better chance to win a title and lots of money.

He signed an 8 year extension, has 10 wins presently. Probs enough to get a statue here. Pat Dye has a statue, never won. There are others.not many statues of coaches without a national championship. The question is can he do it at IU.

We all talk about his current roster leaving and all being from JMU.IU has money. I think he stays. He is now paid like an SEC coach. He is probably top 10-15 in country. Worked out awesome for Pat Fitzgerald.CC may remain loyal to the school who gave him a shot.

I agree. He will just have to prove it again. We all talk about his current roster leaving and all being from JMU.
Thing is, those are the guys he recruited to JMU and developed. They are his guys. It is my belief he will be able to recruit well.
The player's loyalty to CC says a lot about his character.
He might be on the Lance Leipold at Kansas path. Complete program turnaround, HUGE big money extensions, and then disappointment after the transfers/prvs coach's recruits graduate. The quick, overvalued contract extension also has shades of Mel Tucker. He signed an 8 year extension, has 10 wins presently. Probs enough to get a statue here. Pat Dye has a statue, never won. Not all dudes are Lane Kiffin.
It is an interesting case. We will have to see how fast he can reload his 2 deep. I have no doubt they are good this year, but they haven't played the most challenging schedule. Not their fault. There will come a time where it loads up quick and will he have the Joes to challenge every year? That is a lot of dough they just threw at him at a place that has zero history of winning. What if they go 4-8 next year? Fans are fickle. He might be on the Lance Leipold at Kansas path. I mean, Mike White doesn't even have a statue here, or Zuppke (though he does at least have the field named after him). Heck, Turner won 10 games and got us to a BCS bowl and isn't even remembered all that fondly. It takes a long body of work.He signed an 8 year extension, has 10 wins presently. You're not wrong, but they're Indiana. They pretty much have to make that gamble. And if were in their shoes so would we.He might be on the Lance Leipold at Kansas path. Totally agree with you in theory. The hard thing is...if you don't extend him and he leaves in the offseason, you have a very angry fan base. It's Indiana football afterall, gotta do it.He might be on the Lance Leipold at Kansas path.
