well, I'm sure a convoluted scenario has Indiana losing to Purdue, among other things.Illinois would never get in over any 3 loss SEC team or 1 loss Indiana

It wouldn’t be Missouri.any? False.
Oddly enough, I think a 9-3 Illinois has a better resume than a 9-3 Missouri would. And if certain games go the way they could, some of those top 25 wins will start paying off here towards the back quarter of the season.
Best $7.99 I’ve ever spent to get for one month. Have already canceled my subscription. LOL.I don’t have Peacock so I didn’t see the game but checked in occasionally on the game thread. Great result but must have been an excruciating watch.
Hahahaha, fortunately for me it is white wine!!!!!My wife wants to know if it was white or red wine. If it was red, then your in trouble!

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I considered that those things did, in fact, happen, in my assessment that we had no business winning. All things considered, we win this game and it wouldn't probably be close if it weren't for that silly play by Jacas... not to mention the PAT situation.
Definitely over coached for the loss. Unbelievably fortunate for us.This is some funny reading.

Rutgers fans want Schiano fired.
4th and 14. 14 seconds and no timeouts. Don’t even rush anyone. Make Luke sit there forever until the time has elapsed. Blitzing is really the only way they could have had a chance at losing. Not ti mention trying to ice a 58 yarder into the wind
Savor the win, but per my post above, we've actually had quite a few of these recently. Michigan State 2019, the 6 ot Penn State game, 4th and long to beat Toledo last year, the John Paddock era, and even throw in Purdue this year after blowing the lead. This never happens for the Illini. It always happens to the Illini.
Until now!!!!
we beat him when he was at Iowa tooKaliakmanis was Minnesota's quarterback in that game.
This play reminds me so much of the Rooks around right end against Ohio State in 1983. Play happened right in front of me. Trudeau hands offf to Rooks who quickly gets to the second level. I start yelling score! SCORE!!! SCORE!!!! He evades a potential tackler and finds the endzone. I'm yelling OMG!!! OMG!!! OMG!!!!!!. Stadium is going NUTS!!!! OMG!!!!!! I'm getting light headed from the exhilaration. The greatest memory of my 63 years as an Illini fan. Today's experience is right up there with it including the same yelling. That wasn't my reaction at the time, and upon further review, I don't think Bryant took any unnecessary risks. As soon as he cuts right he's got the ability to get out of bounds at the very least, lots of green grass in front of him.
Username checks out.
assist, schiano

Illinois isn’t making it over any of those 12 teams even if ND lost to Army
Toledo and Minnesota 2023 and Purdue and Rutgers 2024 are all stone-cold miracles. After “4th and backup QB” and this game, at what point do we have to change the narrative to “Illinois always seems to win in the most improbable ways”?
That QB run was a worse decision than Schiano's TO.Go to page 46 of the game thread for total pandemonium! What a read!!!!!! Probably more epic to go back to when we ran that first down QB play burning up our final TO.
Fair. I need to change the last sentence to: Until Brett!Savor the win, but per my post above, we've actually had quite a few of these recently. Michigan State 2019, the 6 ot Penn State game, 4th and long to beat Toledo last year, the John Paddock era, and even throw in Purdue this year after blowing the lead.
Finally, at long last, its a good time to be an Illinois football fan again.
