Only six teams were giving up more yards per play than the Bears going into today and I don’t think it got better today.

I give them credit for the comeback. Unfortunately they lose all three home games in a row. Next three are on the road at Detroit, at San Fran, and at Minnesota. Not sure who they beat the rest of the way. Maybe Seattle day after Christmas?

The Bears defense has been awful, but they've been hidden by the fact that all of the attention has been on the offense. The defense has been directly responsible for three losses. Washington, Green Bay and now Minnesota.

The good news is that Eberflus doesn't have any more legs to stand on. He's calling the plays and his defense is failing.

Kind of hard to believe the ineptitude of the last three Bears head coaches, Fox, Nagy, and now Eberfluss.
I've been saying this to people, Fox and especially Nagy took so much abuse, but Fox was a good coach past his sell-by date, Nagy was a good offensive mind in a bit over his head as a leader, and Eberflus is not even on the radar screen with those guys. He's in Tim's Floyd and Beckman zone, this is one of the most comprehensively overmatched people I've ever rooted for.

(Both Fox and Nagy were also better coaches than Marc Trestman btw. Wanny Trestman Eberflus in that order is the bottom 3)

Is everyone else here too young to remember Abe Gibron, worst won-lost percentage record of any non-interim Bears coach, and Jim Dooley and his magical 1-13 year?
Why would anyone want to remember that??? Haha, just kidding. Sounds awful..... Dooley name does ring a bell though....

I remember Abe, though I was just 8 years old when his Bear's tenure started. Watching the Bears was mandatory Sunday afternoon in our house, as important as attending church in the morning.

A life time of bad football helps one appreciate the little things like an 8-3 Illinois.

Now I'm 60 years old and still trying to figure out why God blessed the McCaskeys with a football franchise and fans they clearly don't deserve.

The McCaskeys' heaven is the Bears fan hell.

Yeah, I find it hard to take serious a list that isn’t led by big Abe. And giving Fox a pass cuz he was good at one time. I guess that means the recently departed Rico Carty was the MVP of the 1973 Cubs. I mean he led the NL in batting 3 years earlier.

I don't even remember Rico Carty playing for the Cubs.
I didn’t either until I read it upon his passing. Then I did have a vague recollection. Only played like 20 games with them. Reportedly Ron Santo and him had issues that led to his short tenure. Same type of problems led to him being jettisoned by Braves after issues with Hank Aaron.

I know that they were Bears coaches but that’s it. My oldest memory of bears coaches goes back to Neil Armstrong, who I remember as a ā€œbadā€ coach but his record wasn’t awful at 30-35.
