OU, TA&M,MISS, SDSU, UCONN all will jump us.

MSU will enter and might jump us.

Putting us at 25…UNC is the question mark

We're dropping out and deservedly so. Have to beat Northwestern. We have two games this week that a infinitely more important than our lack of being ranked.
We might stay, we might not stay. We might very well not stay. But definitely not enough to pencil it in IMO. There's nothing certain with these early season ballots and at #19 losing on the road to a quality big ten team... and a few of teams around us had bad Ls... there's certainly a case that you're still a fine, talented team.
Firstly, we should drop out. Would/could/whatever.....we should drop out. And by staying ranked we'll be creating unrealistic expectations and unrealistic perceptions that don't register to the team right now. This is a .500 big ten team at best
Alright man...

Chicago State is sold out while Wisconsin is being offered on a discount package. Curious.

Just how cheap were the tix for the 12-29 game?
They ran a 4/$50 ticket deal for that game. It's also a Sunday at noon game during Christmas break when families are looking for things to do. We have friends bringing their family and this will be their first Illini game!

Not only do the players have to figure out their roles & how to play with each other, Brad has to figure it out too. It’s clear Morez needs way more minutes. Going into the Northwestern game there wasn’t much that has happened to justify Ben not getting the minutes he got, he had a horrible shooting night. The staff & players are still figuring this out, and I think Brad makes the adjustments this week. Let’s go 2-0 this week and get back on track.

horrible having to watch NW do what they want to possession after possession. Double them! Making them take an even tougher shot, turn it over, or pass it and make someone other than Barnhizer, Martinelli, or Leach (who scored 87% of NW points).

I liked your positivity, but as I figured, we dropped like a brick. BiG picture, it doesn't really matter, but we should have won that game.

Re: the guy going over the top, I agree.....he got a little too worked up. Lol

Relaaaax.

I understand your frustration, but this bumpy start wasn't unexpected. Can't make a bump a roller coaster ride.

I feel this is the key. It is easy to criticize (for me, anyway), but I definitely realize how very challenging it is to define roles effectively, get total buy-in from each player regarding their role, and to tune player performance within their defined role.

With a team of almost all new guys and mostly young guys as well, I think this is a monumental task.

So I am backing (as is everyone else here) Coach Underwood in the quest he has set for himself, and for us, this season. That said, at this admittedly still-early point in the season I am concerned. There remains a lot of time for the team to improve -- enough time, I think -- but there is indeed quite a lot to upgrade. Go for it!

One would have to ask does Brad believes that the starting 5 that has been put out on the court so far this season is the right/best starting 5? I think our backcourt and center position are set but the wings not so much. The lineup of Kylan, KJ, Will, Tomi, and Morez is what I would want to see.

That’s our best 5.

I know we all kinda thought it going in... and it's def. possible he might have a rough stretch sometime these next few months or whatever, but... there's truly like zero chance we get him back for another year (barring injuries of course). Like... real, true one and one.
If Kasparas continues to dish out assists, drive at will and hit 3's like he is, he will be lottery pick playing in NBA next season. Not even close to his peak yet either.
