I'll be officiating some 5th and 6th grade basketball all day on Saturday.

I really should put the Illini games into my calendar so that I know to not overbook myself. :D

Praise God for YouTube TV though. That system rocks for starting a game late now. (It was a little rough early on)

I don’t like this matchup for Illinois. TN reminds me a lot of Houston from the last decade. Very strong, physical, half court oriented. #2 adjusted defense on Kenpom. Their tempo pace is only 263, Illinois is 30. I think we struggle a lot. TN wins 73-62

Of our 3 games vs likely #1 seeds (Duke, Alabama, TN), I think this is the toughest one. TN has the least talent but their style is a rock fight and our team isn’t made to win those.

Can confirm. I slept under a bush or two while at Illinois for reasons I'd rather not discuss. Although it was summer...and I was a lot younger...and the reasons were pretty bad.

Sorry, this was meant to be an endorsement.

You and me both (maybe we can compare notes about which campus bush was the best) but that was a long time ago and after a night that would probably leave me dead if I tried it now but was just another Friday at the time.

Side note, I don't love that we made this the stripe-out game. It seems like WAY too many people in the navy sections just wear orange and ruin it, lol. SFC just simply looks more intimidating when players walk into a hornet's nest filled with orange! During one of our recent games that Bruce Weber was on, he said they used to joke with opposing players that it was going to be so orange that they'd have trouble seeing the ball. :ROFLMAO:

See as how Tennessee wears orange too albeit a different shade they should have went with painting the hall Blue!

Ziegler is one of the best on ball defenders in all of CBB. He’s gonna give KJ fits I fear. And their Slavic dude is everything I hoped Ben would and could be.
If they want to put a 5’9 guy on 6’6 KJ then booty ball and post him up all day and I like our chances.

This will be very tough. My concern is going to be the three point shooting. We have had too many games of random dudes just popping off from distance and this is a guy that actually shoots it well.

Should be a really interesting matchup.
True but it seems to me that is happening by design. Intentionally leave the random guys that don’t hit 3s open to dare them to beat you. I don’t think a guy known for hitting 3s will get what he wants against this team from deep imo.

But then their orange would stand out more. It'll already stand out, but I'd think there's something psychologically to seeing the other team's orange blot out your own. There's no easy spot to look to when you're searching for your fans and their reaction, etc.

The Landscape Architecture Dept. had a nice demonstration plot with many fine bushes.

I still start late games covering my eyes with just the tiniest slit to navigate YouTube TV until I can start game from beginning, even though it’s probably no longer an issue. Better to be safe!

Wait, it will be fine. Go find yourself a cheap tablet. Use Bluetooth earplugs and go sit in a corner where you can see anyone approaching. Might even be best to go to where all the younger kids hang out/play. When any adult approaches, pause the feed and act extremely disinterested until they leave. Then fast forward during commercials/halftime. I bet you could catch most of the game in real time.
