This just feels like an L but one this team wins in late February or early March. Maybe they’ll hit enough threes and surprise us. I-L-L

Our chances in this game depend entirely upon whether Brad finally wises up about Ben Humrichous. If Ben plays a few spot minutes when Tennessee doesn't have a strong scoring threat in at PF, we stand a good chance at winning the game. If Brad continues to start Ben and play him more than both Morez and Will, we have no chance at all against a team as strong as Tennessee while playing 4 on 5 both defensively and when we're rebounding defensively and offensively.

More power to you my friend, it's always nice to get one up on a bro, blood or otherwise, lol .

Every time I see this pic, I think of Robert Rosenthal a few years down the road, lol.

You got it. Making threes at a higher pct. will be a must. Ben, for one, has been terrible the past two games. If he doesn't make threes at a high pct., he's not an asset on the court.

I watched most of Tennesse's game last night. They are really good. We'll really have to bring it to beat these guys. Shooting threes at a higher pct. will be crucial.

Gotta get out of the gate fast and punch them square in the mouth. Set a tone and not let up.

Illinois 87
Vols 85

I don't think the Illini have been sharp since the Arkansas game. They will need to come and play with everything they have, dive for loose balls, get to the basket, rebound, tenacious defense, NO SCORING DROUGHTS! Tall order but they have played 9 games so they know each other. It is up to them to bring it all together on Saturday! Illini 85 Tennessee 88. Free throws will beat them.

If Boswell can hold Lanier to under 15 points, I think I like Illini's chances.
This will be very tough. My concern is going to be the three point shooting. We have had too many games of random dudes just popping off from distance and this is a guy that actually shoots it well.

Should be a really interesting matchup.

Tre's coming out party may be very important going forward. As for KJ, he's not just talented, he's one of those guys that come up big at crunch time. I expect him to come on strong against TN, just like he did against Arkansas and Wisky.

In my opinion the absolute key to victory for the Illini in this game is using the positional size advantage to give the Vols' best players as many contested shots as possible and maybe more importantly to win the rebounding game. We had a similar advantage last year and ultimately were outrebounded.

Illinois has a 2" advantage on average (Tennessee's average is admittedly dragged down by Zeigler) So it needs to be an all hands effort to a) hold Tennessee to below-average shooting and b) crash the boards on every shot.

If Ben gets out of his shooting slump we win this one by 10
