Last season I went to Knoxville for the game. The 2nd half was disappointing but still had a good time with my friends. Ended up at a club/bar off campus highly intoxicated and met some cool fellow Illini fans. After the bar shut down and we were outside waiting for Uber, I started giving some kid !!!! for being a Jack Harlow clone. I ended up drawing criticism of others, but was thankfully backed up by my brethren in Illinois gear. The other side quickly grew in numbers and it turned into an Illinois vs Tennessee thing. An average sized Tennessee guy started picking a fight with a 6'6" Illinois guy. It turned into a boxing match and Illinois guy had stupid long reach. On maybe the third time he connected, Tennessee guy collapsed, head hanging off the curb with his face in a gushing stream of water from the rain. Me being a pacifist ran over and removed his head from the water so he didn't drown. The crowd quickly dispersed after that and thankfully nobody was seriously hurt or arrested.

Hopefully this year we have on-court domination as well. I won't be there, so I won't cause any ruckus
So what you’re saying is that you instigated a fight. 😃

Yep, agreed fully ... 2001 to 2006 were my formative sports years (lucky, I know ... :ROFLMAO: ), and it was practically gospel that Assembly Hall was a top 5-10 venue in America. At the VERY least, no Illini fan would not rank it #1 in the Big Ten as the hardest place to play. Today, I bet many of our own fans would mildly and passively admit Mackey is better and not get too worked up about that fact.

I want the House of 'Paign's reputation back, damn it!!
I would agree with you on the wanting the reputation back. Tuesday night was sad and pathetic to see all of the seats unoccupied vs a big rival.. really could have been rocking big time considering the game outcome

As for the loudest game of the BU era, I had to miss the AZ game but I've attended most of the home games. Loudest one I've been to was the OSU game in 2022. At the time, it was thought to be a pivotal game in the B1G championship race and the place was jumping. Especially after BU got thrown out of the game. Unfortunately, we came up just short. It was blizzard conditions that night and the drive back to Chicago was quite sketch.
That was the loudest that I've ever heard Assembly/SFC. I was near the front of A7...almost courtside. My ears were ringing after Coleman had that fastbreak dunk! Even the Wisky game in 2005 was a little louder than Wake Forest.

I applaud your honesty; I would be to embarrassed and ashamed of myself to claim being part of this. I do NOT miss going to bars and being exposed to folks like this.

For those that know.... any idea on the lineup situation? It was stated that Riley would be starting as the year progresses and, although he hasn't looked good, Ben's looked a nutshell of himself. Ben is also doubling Riley in minutes.

And at the end of the game, the lineup that starts is always the one finishing. And Morez too - he needed to be in there more vs NW
