I would assume the movement on the sports book side is more of where the money is being bet and not actually who they favor to win. Which would mean, unless there was a huge bet that they are trying to offset; that the overall public consensus would be that Illinois is the favorite in the court of public opinion.

Good morning fellow basketball nuts. It’s a great day to be great.

It's time to put up or shut up! Just go play hard nosed basketball and let the chips fall where they may.

This just feels like an L but one this team wins in late February or early March. Maybe they’ll hit enough threes and surprise us. I-L-L
Yeh, I feel like this is Round 1, with a rematch coming in March. Let's win both!

I always hold out hope that Rick Barnes has one of his “Rick Barnes is a big game” moments.

I’ll go with Tennessee 85, Illinois 80. But if that scoreline is reversed, it wouldn’t surprise me in the least.

I love this. I was that kid at one time and he is still here.

I'm not trying to be a Debbie Downer or a purposeful malcontent or shitposter here, but I wish this general concept seemed more important with respect to the @NW games these past few years.

I imagine that a lot of of Chicago-area fans could really use an assist in terms of giving their kids a formative memory to jump start Illinois fandom since that's the easiest game for a significant portion of the fanbase to attend. My son (age nine) is right in the sweet spot for building his rooting allegiances, and he's seen nothing but three consecutive disappointing losses at NW (with an unremarkable home win over Rutgers mixed in somewhere), and after this year's NW game, he told me that he didn't want to go again next year, and instead, we should go to a game in Champaign where our home court advantage is even better than it is in Evanston. A complete gut-punch, and doubly so given that he's not wrong.

Pretty personally deflating to watch your child's interest in Illinois basketball fail to launch, year after year, and I'm probably not the only one currently caught in a similarly dismal inflection point.

Break out the Blues today? I’m sure I’m in the minority but think it could look good with the “stripe the hall” theme

I get it, but from my experience, my bond with the Illini want built in opposing arenas. It was built at Assembly and Memorial. I live in Chicagoland now, but my bond with with the STL Cardinals wasn’t built at Wrigley. It was built living down there and going to Busch as a youngster.
If your son wasn’t impressed by the turnout and love shown by Illini fans in an opposing gym then maybe he just isn’t that into it and that is totally ok.

My best friend who is a huge, huge Bears fan took his young son to a Bears game against the Packers, but they lived in Sheyboygan, so opted to attend his son's first game at Lambeau that year instead.

His son is a Packers fan now lol.

I have yet to see where Illini have a home court advantage. I hear this every year but I never notice it from the crowd noise. Take him to. champaign and let him see the difference.

So Wisconsin was favored in Champaign by 2.5 and now #1 Tennessee is favored by only 1.5.

First of all --- Wisky should never have been favored in our house. Vegas is slipping.
