IU never proved that they were any good. Beat nobody.

At least there's less of a likelihood for IU to be as good record wise next season, They'll still have a fairly soft non-con with a 5-win ODU team, a god awful Kennesaw State team, and FCS Indiana State. During conference season, they do have to travel to Iowa City and Eugene (with a bye week in between those trips) and also have to travel to Happy Valley in early November.

But also in fairness, if it were the Beloved that played the exact schedule that Indinia played with the same results headed into the CFP, our response would be virtually identical to that of Indinia - “We can only play the schedule in front of us and we did that and won all but one.”

Yeah, it was a weak sister schedule, but they played it, and won their games, with all of most of the football world understanding that they would be shellacked by any good team they played in the CFP. NDis not exactly lighting them up at 27-3, but I think Georgia is going to introduce them to big boy football.

Man, these announcers are talking mad Smack. They are so angry at the BIG ten. They really have spent the last 10 minutes bulling the BIG football conference. I can't stand ESPN
If ESPN had the B1G media contract, McDonough would have been falling all over himself apologizing for IU.

In fairness, I personally, do not think that ND is 'all that'...... I mentioned earlier during their game that ND and IU were both mediocre 11-1 teams. I think that they both showed that this evening. We'll see how ND looks next week.

I know that a lot of people were rooting for IU for the B1G connection as well as domer hate. But I'm really happy that they got exposed. Takes some of the wind out of their sales. We just don't need another up and comer competing against us for recruits. Especially those Purdue transfers.
I'd rather they won. This could be Illinois in the near future and they might pass on us over this.

Wasn't that right after the blatant OOB hit? I yelled out "That was dirty!" as soon as it happened. Many angry looks came my way :ROFLMAO: What's crazy is the amount of excuses that came out after the first replay. I was at a casino bar deep in Loosier/Pud country btw. Repping Illini gear...of course (y)

2024 Indinia will have near 0 effect on 2025 or later Illinois...... Every season has so many variables that a comparison of this sort is unremarkable. It's not only dependent upon the 2 of you, but the entirety of the rest of the top P4 conference teams.....

Indiana had a great season. To go from 3-9 to 11-2 is a heck of a turn around. And the key thing they did was lock up Cignetti although it’s possible Ohio State still puts together enough money to get him if they fire Ryan Day. Given all the NIL that Indiana has I think they are going to be good for as long as Cig is there

Notre Dame can win this whole thing. They remind me of Michigan from last year. I really haven’t been impressed with any team other than Oregon’s speed. So Notre Dame has as good of shot as any

I think it's highly unlikely we see a big ten team with such a soft conference schedule in the future. And if it is us I don't have a problem with the pass. They should be trying to get the 12 best.
