wrt the Auburn Purdue game, Auburn was up 30 with 2 minutes to go. Purdue scored the last 11 points to make it not totally humilating. This scenarior is something the metrics can't compensate for. Even so, Purdue, according to kenpom is the 7th best b10 team. And if the schedules were even [true round robin], then proably that is where they would end up. They were picked to win. lol. In any case, there are some good B10 teams. Maryland, Us, Oregon, UCLA, MSU, even Rutgers has looked good. So not all is lost. Just Purdue.

He had eight 25 win seasons and was seeded 6 or better nine times before Edey ever showed up. Bizarre take.
In the 15 seasons before Edey, Purdue missed the tournament 4 times and was a 9 seed or worse 3 times. So about half his seasons were underwhelming at best.

People want to put him on Izzo's level and he's not. Fine coach. Fine program. But people got carried away.

Michigan looks good to me.

Auburn just did this to tO$U a couple of days ago. Sadly, they are very, very good. The SEC is just loaded. And I think the Big Ten is very, very mediocre this year.
It'll be fun... gonna have your shot, especially if you can win at home... doubt the B10 champion has any less than 6 or 7 losses.

Disagree. Good defensively, but I have questions about their offense. Plus, Bruce Pearl teams often fade in the later parts of the season. We'll see what happens, but Auburn is at the top of a bunch of very good teams.

They are 11-1.
Only loss AT Duke by 6.
Beat Houston, Iowa St, UNC, Memphis and Purdue.
And beat OSU silly before the *uckeyes waltzed into Rupp and spanked UK.

Original post was close to dominant. They are close to dominant. Hopefully they stumble, but better than anyone else at this point.

Agreed, Auburn is about as dominant as it gets right now. Long season so we will see how they are looking in March, but I could really see them pull a UConn this year where they smoke everyone straight into the final 4.

I just don't really see what everyone else is seeing about Auburn. Sure, they're 11-1, but they can only win games when it's a "rock fight" when they are allowed to hack and foul with impunity. They are not that great offensively. The one game where they were forced to actually play basketball, they lost (at Duke).

We'll see what happens in the conference season, but I'm not anointing Auburn at this year's UConn anytime soon.
