Sorry.. I saw this already. I guess, I probably should have said I saw this, and I’m thinking of getting west sideline or maybe horseshoe seats. Anyone have preference or input why one is better or worse?
If you pick the horseshoe, I would suggest getting seats either in the upper half or near one of the corners. The view from the seats in the first few rows directly behind the goal posts is not the best because of the poor depth perception. For plays that happen near the NEZ, it's hard to tell whether it went for 10 yards or 1 yard. Also, the crossbar does block your view a bit occasionally from those specific seats.

So will Whitman be able to secure funds to upgrade the stadium now?

What have we got in terms of draft prospects for this upcoming draft?
Pat Bryant, Seth Coleman, JC Davis, TeRah Edwards, Ryan Meed maybe Zakhari Franklin sneaks into late round conversation. Are Gabe Jacas, Matthew Bailey, Xavier Scott, anyone else draftable?

I'm not so sure IU will have anywhere near as good a team in '25. The stars aligned for them this season but will they be able to come close to '24 again? It won't surprise me if they have a mediocre record this season.

Early 2025 prediction

10-2, losing to IU and beating USC. Is this some strange parallel universe?
I'm going to say 9-3 again. A loss against OSU, and two losses somewhere else. One likely against either Indiana or USC, and one WTF loss somewhere (hey, I'm an Illinois fan - still dealing with the 30 years or so of wandering in the football wilderness). Just to be clear - another 9-3 season would be a MAJOR plus. We've had a couple of seasons like 2024 over the last few decades, only to see a slip back to mediocrity. Another 9-3 season would show this is really becoming consistently sustainable, which is my primary hope for the program.

Don’t kno where to put this exactly but, what’s the word on Mario Sanders? I can’t recall the story behind him not playing, just curious if he’ll have a role next year.

Bielema's coaching record (currently at 50 games)

With 2 more wins, he'll pass Blackman (66 games)
With 3 more wins, he'll pass Mackovic (47 games)
With 4 more wins, he'll pass Elliott (66 games)
With 7 more wins, he'll pass Zook (85 games)
With 8 more wins, he'll pass Turner (92 games)

He will do all that next year.

5-1 in one score games in 2024. In the long run those average out to about 50-50. There’s a possibility Illinois could be a better team but finish with fewer wins. Plenty of reason for optimism but if things don’t go exactly as desired let’s not freak out (I keep pointing to Kansas as an example).

Anything can happen week to week in the middle of the big 10, but my call out for ‘25 is illini will beat the Trojans.

this I know , we are NOT losing to IU next year
I tend to agree, regardless of what else happens. For one, I think IU will take a step back and we will be very evenly matched. I also think a lot of enthusiastic Illini fans are going to find their way over to Bloomington.

I kind of forgot for a second that we already got revenge for the 2022 loss in 2023, but it's worth noting that Bret has beat EVERY Big Ten team he has played except for Oregon ... and we only got one shot, in Eugene, while they were ranked #1. Bizarrely enough, we have not played Ohio State since he's been there and (obviously) none of the other West Coast schools.

Here are the Big Ten teams he has beat in order of first victory (starting in 2021).

Nebraska
Penn State
Minnesota
Northwestern
Wisconsin
Iowa
Maryland
Indiana
Purdue
Michigan
Michigan State
Rutgers

This year rectified winless records against Purdue, Michigan, MSU and Rutgers ... awesome, lol! Let's cross USC, Ohio State and Washington off of that list next year!!
