I think this is gonna help in the long run. No gimmies. Have to bring it every day, home or away, early or late, good teams or not, full lineup or not. Brad can use this as tape for the rest of the season.

Just sucks right now, but we beat Indiana and all will be good.

Claude made a ton of tough contested shots at the rim and within 10 feet. There were the layups but he also went nuclear and just had everything going in. I like to blitz a guy on a heater like that whether it's full court, a surprise double, etc. Anything to make him feel uneasy with the ball.
That would be great, but we couldn’t even execute basic defensive rotations. We were completely disconnected defensively.

Now we have to steal a couple on the road, since we already pissed away NW to even think about being in the BIG title conversation. This loss hurts in so many ways. We should plummet in the rankings and metrics.
It's quite frustrating because once this team started to get some national attention (their props), they laid an egg. And now, they'll drop to their deserved position.

Got out rebounded by 3 and had 15 TO’s. For guys like Will and Morez who think they should be starting even when KJ is playing, do something to give BU a dang reason to. Will is broke from 3. Morez can’t post up anyone his own size and had 2 points. Reality check for our two all time highest recruits. Playing with big boys now.

Which is kind of shocking given how locked in defensive rotations were on Wednesday. Hard to understand how USC could have done that much different to totally confuse us.

Wonder if we pissed him off while he was in the portal…his name was bouncing around in April on Loyalty. Might’ve taken something personal and saved it for this game.

Ah, never change Loyalty hive. Some of the hot takes here today are

I'd believe it. We need to be tampering right now. He'd make a great Illini next year

If that's true, then your solution should not be to continue in the same manner. Pick them up full court. CLAUDE was phenomenal but he's not a true PG. Stress him full court

Yeah, he’s going to make some serious money if he keeps playing like that. I believe we wanted a player that went to Xavier and then Claude felt pushed out and portaled to USC. He only shot 24% from 3 last year so he likely wasn’t a serious look by us, but he’s closer to 32% this year and was filthy today.

I remember when I criticized Tomi's lack of interior post moves (aka, he is really bad in the post) and I was raked over the coals... Of all teams we could get some post touches and some easy baskets and we got almost none.

Will Brad learn from this? Team not ready to play and defensive adjustments were lacking.
That’s the better question for sure. KJ has to play this week or we’re looking at a likely 3 game losing streak. We haven’t lost two in a row since 2022-23 season.

And give up even more layups? Not sure why you’re not picking this up, but if we can’t execute the basics and, I might add do so with some intensity, changing up the defensive philosophy won’t amount to much and could (probably would) make it worse. You can’t really gimmick D your way at the high major level if basic defensive principles (and intensity) are missing.

I like Tomi and hope he sticks around for another year but he is just kind of soft for a 7 footer.

Needs to add strength on the lower body and work on banging a bit more and finishing forward through contact instead of floating away.
I do like Tomi, and he can improve, but as you wrote, he is soft. And he's a big part of this team. We need him.

I've seen on a few occasions where he didn't go "balls out" for lose balls in other games--he just used his arms without getting his whole body in there.

Wish he would be more physical when backing in fir a potential baby hook.
