The style of our offense has evolved and I don't see how Ponder's skill set would match.
Brad would a find a way to make it work. He could find a stretch 5 like Tomi, or Tomi returns for a 2nd year. He could pair the 2 together on the court like Dusty May is doing with his traditional 5 big and stretch 5 big with great results I will add

So off topic I’m sorry, but I watched a highlight video randomly the other day of a Maui game and Egwu hit an 18 ft jumper… never remember that being a part of his game.

Also had an awful turnover off a fumbled catch, which was very reminiscent of his game. Also was a huge Egwu fan.
THE EGWU SLANDER! He had a pretty solid mid range game actually, smooth shot for a big, never really was able to stretch it out with efficiency at the 3pt line though.

And that trad 5 is starting to shoot threes with increasing success. I'll be watching tonight. After the women's game of course.

Yeah, he could hit mid range jumpers at a decent rate. He was a solid player with one glaring weakness - hands. I saw him play in H.S. and it was the first thing I noticed about his game. It's one of those things that bigs rarely improve upon if they don't have it as a High School player. While Kofi's hands were a bit iffy when he first got to Champaign, they were not even close to the level that Nnana's were.
