Tip of the cap: refs went hard in the paint for a full 40 min
Showed a replay during the game and absolutely the Spartan stepped on KJ's foot.
Make an unquestionably reasonable % of our shots within 2.5 feet? Win by double digits.Hit our free throws? Win.
Underwood doesn't get teed? Win.
Less home cooking from the stripes? Win.
I'm bummed but excited for the rest of the season.
It must be exhausting to be so easily disappointed/annoyed.I was very annoyed with the CBS broadcast team - along with not offering explanations to key points in the game as mentioned previously, every reference to the score was from the MSU perspective...Michigan State down 7, Michigan State has never lead, that's Michigan State's first lead of the game, etc. etc.
I also get very agitated by words ending in "th" being pronounced as an "f" --- Showing some strengff on that rebound...
Sure, but I expect that at this point. We usually have more 3s, better FT%, etc.Make an unquestionably reasonable % of our shots within 2.5 feet? Win by double digits.
It's utterly mind boggling the bunnies this team misses. Consistently. Every. Game. It's effing maddening![]()
Outside of the last foul on KJ, which was a huge mistake on his part, the other four he was not really "baited into". A couple of those were simply bad whistles. In no particular order, I was frustrated with the following:
1) The tech on Brad late in a tight game.
2) We stopped driving to the basket in the second half even when we were in the bonus early.
3) Almost all of our contested finishes in the paint could have been called as and-ones, and they weren't. You could clearly see on replays that our players were constantly getting hacked near the basket with no-calls.
4) KJ got baited into more than one foul. He needs to be smarter than that.
5) Tre and Ben essentially no-showed when our team needed them.
It's hard to win on the road. Would have loved to get this one, but it is what it is. Regroup for the next game.
It was two-hours worth so yeah, it took some endurance. It's probably exhausting to climb up on a high horse as wellIt must be exhausted to be so easily disappointed/annoyed.
This. This. This.A great deal of confusion and misinformation regarding
1. The technical foul
2. Shot over the back board.
It would be helpful if the announcers did a better job of describing what happened, Too often a violation or foul occurs and the announcers don't even say who the foul was on or what violation occurred. They babble on about how great some coach is or what the future schedule is, etc. as they ignore the game action. In both cases with significant impact on the outcome of the game, a more detailed explanation would have helped. (They are also reluctant to comment on anything that might show the ref screwed up or show a replay that contradicts a call) MSU did not have control of the ball so the bench cannot call a timeout. The tech should have been on the MSU bench.
Of course. They got the message from up top from Big Ten not to say bad things to their precious officiating crew. At least a lot of folks out there that have no horse in the race between us and Michigan State are saying how much of a crap show the zebras were.BIG 10 post game show negative on the Illini, dissing KJ and mentioning BAM's sage stick before the USC game. Bieline and the kid from Pardon't throwing the towel in on the 3-loss Illini! Interesting!!
Read the comments and he is getting grilled by msuholes, but says he's a northwestern fan. Lol
Said every fan in every conference in the country. This conference has not won a National Championship in 24 seasons. I believe the !!!! show that is Big Ten refereeing is the main reason. Our teams are set up for failure every year because these kids expect tournament games to be called like regular Big Ten games. There is something going on here that does not pass the smell test.
