Teams that rely heavily on the 3 ball make long runs in a high pressure sudden death tournament against highly ranked teams?

Any examples come to mind ?

Can someone more versed in X's and O's explain why Ben seems to disappear in certain games?
I don't believe it is much of an X's and O's issue. think it is partly the greater speed+size of the athletes defending Ben H at this level, and he seems to have lost confidence in his shot. Missing shots can't all be attributed to good defense against him, because Ben misses too many open shots.

And now I am going to partly contradict myself: the offense doesn't get Ben many (some, but not many) opportunities to score other than on threes. It's a common issue for guys filling floor-spacing roles as three-point specialists.

If he has Mono (depending on how long ago he got it), he will be out for at least a month. Even if he starts to feel better, it's dangerous to play with his spleen enlarged (from the mono). On top of the fact that it will take him forever to get back to his full energy. I got mono in high school and couldn't play sports for almost 2 months and it took me nearly 6 months to be fully energized again.

Tomi may not play the rest of the season with this diagnosis....

not ideal but not as big of a deal matchup wise against NW. mono makes a lot of sense.. symptoms can linger for weeks if not months and is very contagious

will know a lot more about our team after tomorrow
Makes me worried that a sizable chunk of the team could get it. Though that would certainly explain the Maryland game if so. Mono sucks.

Yes, it's almost like any given game can have an outcome that differs from the expectation...
Exactly. That's why the games are played. So let's all skip the 'run them out of the gym' hyperbole when describing a team that not only just beat the team that just embarrassed us, but also has already beaten us this year themselves.

That's a bit extreme. Usually people are fine to resume activities after like 2-4 weeks, but fatigue may linger. And he's clearly had it over a week now already.

It's definitely not great but it's not season-ending.

Admittedly, it's been like 15 years since I had it so my memory may be fuzzy. But I think resuming activities will depend on spleen, which I assume they'll monitor.

I’m glad I was up in the cheap seats, far away from the bench on Thursday. Don’t want to catch that illness at my age.

hmmm, but yet he sat on our bench and then in the handshake line. Was hoping whatever he had was winding down, but clearly not.
As long as he wasn't kissing or sharing water bottles with the team, it's likely fine. I'd be more concerned about when he was still actively practicing and playing thinking it was standard strep.

I know it won't happen but would love for Ty to channel his inner Hulk
