Of course not, just funny that on a day when a lot of us are bitching about it, he goes out of his way to celebrate them. Also, don’t get me wrong, I think they are and we are all great fans. Just thought the timing was amusing.

Yes, but it might be more than a coincidence.
He manages people for a living. He might have been applying praise tactically.

When Ivisic comes back, I'd really like to see if there can be ways to work Johnson and Ivisic on some high-low activity. I think Ivisic at the high post could present some interesting setups. I'm not trying to compare Ivisic to Jokic (Joker is obviously a unicorn), but I do think someone with Ivisic's skill set could do some good things with Morez working around. One big strength of Underwood and this staff has always been to develop an offense that maximizes the strengths of the players in it. I think we can find that wrinkle.

Some of these crazy takes about the last 5 minutes have to be from nerds who never played. It was complete domination the first 35 minutes and then guys lost the intensity. If you’ve ever played real sports and not just XBox, you would know it happens all the time. Would’ve been nice to finish strong but inconsequential. Y’all need to chill out.
Nope. Played and still coach hoops at a level higher than most.

Look… I’m not trying to start trouble. But think back to at NW last month. Launching unnecessary 3’s up late was one of the reasons we blew that game.

Plenty to be optimistic about in this game, despite the lackluster final 5 minutes. Morez played incredibly and continues to amaze me as a freshman. Kylan was making better decisions with the ball until late. Loved seeing Humrichous and Davis stroking some 3's. Much better ball movement, particularly in the first half. And loved seeing the intensity on D, the return to form on rebounding, and the hustle to loose balls.

We've seen the fruits of what this talented team is capable of enough times now. How far they ultimately go depends on having the will to bring consistent effort and continuing to improve as a unit. Getting everybody fully healthy again would also help, so hopefully that's sooner rather than later.

On to the next one. I-L-L!

Said on the radio that the refs were not regular Big10 refs. Definitely a difference in number of fouls and flow of the game. This is what the league needs moving forward.
Would love to see this crew on a different game with different teams. If the game was called in a similar manner, that would provide even more support that the conference office is setting officiating standards and guidance that is choking a lot of the games.

We have to remember, again, that officials are implementing directions from the conference assignor and basketball staff. If we see officials who are not regularly working in the conference officiating games in a way that is better, that brings more evidence of an officiating management problem than an officiating problem.

So, what's the consus view on a comfortable lead? My rule of thumb is 2 points per minute remaining up until four or five minutes left, you can feel pretty good But shouldn't step off the same). One you get down to the last four or five minutes, I wanna see a lead of at least five points per minute left to feel comfortable. So, up ten with two minutes to go, I can start to relax. (But remember our Elite 8 game v. Arizona.). What do others think?

I was in the Krush 10 years ago, cheering on .500 basketball teams, essentially. We had a far greater impact on the games than these students have had this season. How does this get fixed?
How can you make someone care about basketball? I just honestly think many of them are not basketball fans. They go to games to socialize, for the opportunity to occasionally be on TV, and for whatever clout comes with it. And the rest of the crowd isn't much / any better.

You're on to something, but IIRC Kansas was "comfortable", maybe in regulation and 1st OT, in their home loss to Houston last night.

Big response from the last game. We came out and executed in the first half and really built a good lead. Looked like a tough, high-energy, together team.

Last ten minutes of the second half were trash though. We need to be able to keep focus as a team and close these game out better.

ILL
I said to my seat mates near the end of the first half, we need to build this lead big enough that we can’t give it away in the second half. Can you imagine if it had been ten at half instead of twenty.

But what if it had been 30 instead of twenty?
