Really good get. Pat Ryan and Jamo doing some good work getting these late risers

Yes, this dude looks like a stud. His Hudl tapes are something else.

The Chicago Catholic League is usually stacked with very good big-school football teams. Many are magnet teams for the best area players.

Jeez. We only had like 8-900 at Stephen D in the 90s and we played against them. We also had 3 schools in Decatur then instead of 2.

I'll ask, what is this one of the largest high schools in Central Illinois? I went to Urbana, we never played Paris. They were kinda small
Depends on your definition of Central IL

Quincy High has 1876, but you consider it western, not central

That's much smaller than when I graduated there in the '70's. My class alone was 615. Speaking of west central IL, it's been a long time since we've seen a recruit out of that area. Jack Cornell was the last I recall, and he's coach at Quincy Notre Dame now. Is he developing some talent for us yet?

With scholarship rosters expanding to 105 players, what’s Illinois doing w those extra scholarships? Giving them to walk ons ?

but they can go to 86 or 87 or whatever if they wanted to because someone really interesting became available, correct ? its not 85 or 105 only, correct?
Yes. So essentially you can go up to 105….but scholarships are extremely expensive so that money has to come from somewhere. I think you’ll probably start to see less scholarship players. Maybe 80

Only questions:

1. How will be enforced? Is it by conference law or cartel rules I am pretty all of the cartel members would go along with this anyway.
2. If by cartel rules, who will try to break the rules first?

What pushes a team over the top? Is it having the best top 40 players or getting the best 86-105 players? I think most boosters would be more excited for the former. Some might argue that it's not an either/or argument, however no matter how much money a program has, at some point the resources are finite.
